正祖의 陸贄 奏議文 수용 양상과 그 의의 (A Study on the King Jeongjo’s Reception of the Luzhi’s Zouyi)

King Jeongjo(正祖) focuses on particularly Luzhi’s(陸贄) sentences and he in person abstracts and publishes two books, Yukjuyakseon(陸奏約選) and  Yukgosugwon(陸稿手圈) among Luzhi’s books.
It would be helpful not only for his self-discipline and ruling the country, but also for him to establish a good standard of the writing style used among officials through his  innovation driven by  the central government.
The King  has pride in selecting independently core content and abstracting the main points briefly, which results in increase of practicality.
King Jeongjo views communication as important factor between upper and lower. This is attributed to original author, Luzhi’s positon of remonstrance and it also reflects the King’s open mind.  But the communication is rather unilateral acceptance than lateral due to the limitation from the original book.  It is noticeable that the King also pays attention to ways of establishing ruler’s authorities for talent-selection, power-delegation and stable sovereignty.  These are the most important matters for the ruler’s position in nation-management, especially it probably affects highly to his Tangpyung policy he promotes in reality, in the time of heavy party strife under his ruling.
What is remarkable is that his abstracting books include many details on the King’s own introspective and self-discipline, which confirms the King’s significant qualities as a leader.
For the acceptance of rhetoric, the aphorism via abstract is noticeable and metaphorical method for understanding and persuasion is preferred.
Rhetoric beauty is actively employed which shows the King’s own perspective on the traditional beauty consciousness.  This implies he presents new writing style against all-prevailing short essay and meager content of that time, which eventually leads to the revolution in writing style, balancing with the importance on the writing style of the Tang and Song times.
King Jeongjo proves himself in his publish of Zouyi as a ruler who loves learning and transforms Chinese stuffs into independently and practically acceptable ones locally , and who tries to faithfully adhere to the virtues of the ruler.  The King’s adaptions and selections presents a number of implications for very effective and at the same time exploring new academic development direction today.
