초록

This paper is intended to examine the foundations of Islamic mission (Da'wah) and to analyze the contents of the literature mission of Korea Muslim Federation. Muslims regard mission as God's calling and Muslim's duty, so they use various types of media contents for Da'wah.
First, Qur'an and Hadith are the foundations of Islamic mission.
Faithful Muslims are expected to invite non-Muslims to join in Muslim community (Ummah), which they regard as the best community under the reign of Allah. They believe that Jews and Christians distorted the original messages of God, which Prophet Muhammad received without any change and addition. Therefore, Islamic mission is to restore the revelation of God against materialism and pluralism.
Second, Korea Muslim Federation published series of booklets on Islam and Muslim cultures. The volume one of these series deals with the six articles of Islamic faith. The volume two explains the meaning of prayers, but the volume three introduces Islam to non-Muslim in more friendly way. The volume four touches the Islamic spirituality by examining the meaning of Ramadan and fasting. The last two volumes,however, criticize the Christian concept of Trinity and the divine nature of Jesus Christ, which the author think problematic and improper.
In conclusion, following the traditions of Qur'an and Hadith, Muslims will proclaim the oneness of God and the authority of Prophet Muhammad. Non-Muslim scholars need to study the manufactured images of other religions in the contents of Islamic literature mission.
