중학생이 지각한 부모의 양육태도가 우울에 미치는 영향 : 무조건적 자기수용의 매개효과 (Effects of the parents' rearing attitude, perceived by middle school students, on depression: mediating effects of the unconditional self-acceptance)

초록

본 연구는 부모의 양육태도가 중학생 자녀의 무조건적 자기수용과 우울에 미치는 영향과 이 과정에서 무조건적 자기수용의 매개효과를 규명하고자 한 것이다. 연구대상은 경기도에 위치한 B중학교 2, 3학년 509명이었으며 그 결과는 첫째, 부모의 양육태도는 무조건적 자기수용과 정적상관이 있고 우울과는 부적상관이 있으며 무조건 자기수용과 우울과는 부적상관이 있었다. 둘째, 남자 중학생은 아버지 양육태도를 애정적으로 지각할수록 우울감을 적게 느끼나 여학생은 아버지의 양육태도가 유의미한 영향력을 나타내지 않았다. 남,녀 중학생들은 어머니의 양육태도를 애정적으로 느낄수록 우울감이 적었고 남학생들이 여학생들보다 더 어머니의 애정적 양육태도에 영향을 받았다. 셋째, 남자 중학생들은 아버지 양육태도를 자율적으로 지각할수록 무조건적 자기수용이 높아지고 어머니의 양육태도는 유의미한 영향력을 나타내지 않았다. 여학생들은 아버지의 양육태도가 합리적이고 어머니가 애정적, 합리적이라고 지각할수록 무조건적 자기수용이 높아진다고 나타났다. 넷째, 무조건적 자기수용은 부모의 양육태도와 우울과의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이런 결과는 중학생 우울에 영향을 미치는 요인들 간의 관계를 보다 분명히 함으로써 중학생 우울의 예방 및 중재를 위한 프로그램 자료를 만드는데 활용 될 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the nature of the effects of the parents' rearing attitude on the unconditional self-acceptance and depression of middle-school students, and to discover whether the students' self-acceptance exerts mediating effect or not in due course. The subjects of the study are 509 students of the first and second grade at B middle school, located in Gyeonggi-do, and the results are as follow.
First, the parents' rearing attitude has built a positive correlation with the students' unconditional self-acceptance, and the negative correlation with depression, and there is a negative correlation between the unconditional self-acceptance and depression. Second, for the effect of the parents' rearing attitude on the depression of the students, the male students have felt less depression when they perceive their father's rearing attitude as caring and affective. However, the father's rearing attitude shows insignificant level of influence on the female students. Both the male and female students have responded with less depression in direct proportion to how much they perceive the mother's rearing attitude as caring and affective. Also, the male students are more subject to influence by the mother's rearing attitude than the female students. Third, the effect of the parents' rearing attitude on the students' unconditional self-acceptance is proportional to the voluntary perception of the father's rearing attitude but mother's rearing attitude shows insignificant level of influence in the case of the male students. However, in the case of the female students the more these students perceive the father's rearing attitude as reasonable and the mother's, as caring and reasonable, the higher their level of the unconditional self-acceptance becomes.
Fourth, the students' unconditional self-acceptance is partial mediation between the rearing attitude of the parents and the students' depression.
This finding implicates that the ability of self-acceptance decreases the effect of the parents' rearing attitude on the students' depression, and plays the role of catalyst of lowering the level of depression. These results clarify the relationship among substantial factors that influence the students' depression, and are expected to serve the need of the development of effective programs for preventing and mediating the depression of the middle-school students.
