디자인학과 대상 무전공 입학제도의 현황 및 교육 운영 방안 (Undeclared major system of current status and education operation for the design major)

초록

다변화되는 사회 환경에서 시대에 부합하는 인재를 배출하고 학생들의 전공 선택권을 보장하기 위해 무전공 입학제도가 도입되었다. 무전공제는 대학 혁신의 한 형태이면서도 구성원 간의 의견 대립으로 지목되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2025학년도 무전공제 입학과 관련된 선행 연구와 뉴스 기사를 통해 무전공제의 현황과 인식을 알아보고 여러 관점을 수용하여 무전공제를 도입한 대학 중에서도 실기 중심의 디자인학과를 선택할 수 있는 대학에 집중하여 교육 운영 방안을 제안하고 향후 과제 논의를 목적으로 한다. 무전공에 따른 디자인학과 교육 운영 방안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과목 설정 및 교육 방향은 ‘3P 자율 혁신 단계 제도’와 ‘디스쿨의 K12 Lab 프로그램의 핵심 구조’에 따라 탐색, 이론과 사고 확장, 창의적 문제해결과 실무 강화의 3단계를 거쳐 설정하고 실무형 프로젝트를 졸업 조건으로 포함시켜 무전공제 취지에 맞는 인재를 양성한다. 둘째, 학생 관리와 지도 방향은 무전공 입학생을 담당하는 지도교수이자 담임 역할의 교수자, 진로 코칭 인력 보충과 전공 상담 탐색, 선배 멘토링 프로그램을 통해 운영한다. 셋째, 체계적인 데이터베이스 구축을 통해 무전공 학생들의 관리 자료로 활용한다. 무전공제로 인한 인기학과 쏠림현상, 기초학문의 붕괴, 급작스럽게 변화하는 커리큘럼 및 학사 관리로 인한 재학생의 교육권 문제는 향후 해결해야 하는 과제이며 무전공 입학생이 중도 이탈되지 않도록 대학에서는 무전공 학생들에 대한 많은 관심이 필요하다. 추후 본 연구의 시사점을 기반으로 무전공제를 고려한 커리큘럼에 대한 연구가 이어진다면 무전공제가 입학제도로 안착하는 데 도움이 될 것이다.

영어초록

The undeclared major system was introduced to produce human resources that meet the needs of the times in a diversifying social environment and to ensure students' choice of major. Undeclared majors are a form of university innovation, but they are also a source of contention. Therefore, this study examines the current status and perceptions of the undeclared major system through previous studies and news articles related to undeclared major admission in 2025, and focuses on universities that have adopted the undeclared major system by accepting multiple perspectives, suggesting educational management plans and discussing future challenges. Here's how the design department will operate undeclared major. First, the curriculum setting and teaching direction are set in accordance with the “3P Autonomous Innovation Stage System” and the “Core Structure of the K12 Lab Program of the D-School” through the three stages of exploration, theory and thinking expansion, creative problem solving, and practical reinforcement, and practical projects are included as a graduation condition to foster talents that meet the purpose of undeclared major system. Second, student care and guidance is provided through instructors who serve as advisors and preceptors for incoming undeclared major students, supplemental career coaching staffing and exploration of major advising, and a senior mentoring program. Third, build a systematic database to serve as a management resource for undeclared majors. The educational rights of current students due to the skewing of popular majors, the collapse of basic disciplines, rapidly changing curricula, and academic administration due to the undeclared major system are issues that need to be addressed in the future, and universities need to pay more attention to undeclared major students to prevent them from dropping out. Future research on curricula that take into account the undeclared major based on the implications of this study would be helpful in establishing the undeclared major as an admissions system.
