정원 연못내 가시연꽃(Euryale ferox Salisbury) 도입을 위한 기초연구 Ⅱ - 토양과 수환경을 중심으로 - (A Basic Study on the Euryale ferox Salisbury for Introduction in Garden Pond(Ⅱ) - Focusing with Soil and Water Conditions -)

초록

본 연구는 연못내 가시연꽃 도입을 위한 일련의 연구로, ‘식물상과 식생환경’에 이어 ‘토양과 수환경’ 기초자료 획득을 목적으로한 후속연구이다. 전라북도 내의 가시연꽃 자생지 14곳에 대한 문헌 및 현장조사를 통해 자생지의 토양환경과 수문환경에 대한 분석을통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다.
최소한 저토와 수환경의 부영양화는 가시연꽃 생육의 장애가 되지는 않다고 판단되며 약 70년 이상의 지령(池齡)을 갖는 서식지에서가시연꽃 생육이 왕성한 것으로 파악된다. 가시연꽃 생육지의 토성은 점토 80.2%, 미사 16.7%, 모래 3.1%로 ‘중식토(重埴土)’로 분류된다.
토양(저니)의 유기물 함량은 평균 36g/kg으로 가시연꽃 생육지와 비생육지 사이에 주목할 만한 차이는 없었다. 한편 가시연꽃 자생지의수질 환경은 pH 6.5∼7.9, 용존산소 농도 1.8∼8.8mg/ℓ, COD 농도 6.8∼74mg/ℓ, 부유물질 2.0∼213mg/ℓ, 총질소 0.422∼10.723mg/ℓ,인산염 인 0.003∼0.126mg/ℓ로 나타났다. 가시연꽃의 녹피율과 활력도가 높은 김제 명덕지, 임실 대정저수지 그리고 정읍 애당저수지의평균 용존산소(DO) 농도는 3.5mg/ℓ, 총질소 농도 1.33mg/ℓ, 인산염 인 0.06mg/ℓ로 조사되었다. 이를 전체 평균값과 비교해보면 DO농도와총질소 농도는 다소 낮고 인산염 인의 농도는 2배 이상 높은 것으로 추후 인산염 인의 농도와 가시연의 활력도의 상관관계에 대한심도 있는 연구가 필요하다. 지금까지 확인된 본 연구 결과를 가시연꽃 관상을 목적으로 하는 정원 연못 조성의 기초자료로 제시한다.

영어초록

Through the research and analysis on the hydrological environment and soil environment of habitats through documentary andfield studies over 14 habitats of Euryale ferox Salisb. within Jeollabukdo, with the objective of acquiring the basic data for formingan environment based on plantation of reservoirs that are composed with Euryale ferox, the following results were obtained.
As a result of analyzing the construction period of the habitats of Euryale ferox from a total of 14 places, the average periodof duration after construction of all subject reservoirs appeared to be 71.8 years. Moreover, when examining the relationshipbetween the age of reservoirs and eutrophication, it could be judged that at least the eutrophication of subsoil and water environmentis not an obstacle to the growth of Euryale ferox grows in habitats that have a reservoir age of approximately 70 years or more.
As a result of analyzing the gardening of soil sediment of the Euryale ferox habitats, the component ingredients appeared tobe composed of 80.2% of clay, 16.7% of silt and 3.1% of sand, and the soil class pursuant to such was classified as ‘heavy clay'.
The organic matter contents of soil sediment appeared to be an average of 36g/kg, and there appeared to be no noticeabledifference between the habitats and non-habitats of Euryale ferox. The water quality environment of Euryale ferox habitat appearedto be pH 6.5～7.9, concentration of dissolved oxygen to be 1.8∼8.8mg/ℓ, concentration of COD to be 6.8∼74mg/ℓ, floatingmaterials to be 2.0∼213mg/ℓ, total nitrogen to be 0.422∼10.723mg/ℓ, and phosphate to be 0.003∼0.126mg/ℓ. The averageDO concentration of Aedang Reservoir at Jeongeup, Daejeong Reservoir at Imsil, and Myeongdeokji at Gimje with high vitalityand green coverage ratio of Euryale ferox appeared to be 3.5mg/ℓ, total nitrogen to be 1.33mg/ℓ, and concentration ofphosphorus-phosphate to be 0.061mg/ℓ. When comparing such with the entire average value, the DO and total nitrogen concentrationappeared to be rather low, and the phosphorus-phosphate concentration appeared to be higher by two times or more, thus, anin-depth study on the correlation of the vitality of Euryale ferox Salisb. and concentration of phosphorate-phosphorus will beneeded in the future.
