비교과프로그램 모듈화를 통한 역량기반 교양교과목 개발 및 운영에 관한 사례연구 －신입생 대학생활 적응을 위한 ‘G-MAP설계도’를 중심으로 (A Case Study on the Development and Operation of Competency －Based Liberal Arts Courses in a Modularized Non-Curriculum Program)

초록

본 연구는 W대학교의 비교과 프로그램을 모듈화한 역량기반 교양교과목 ‘G-MAP설계도’ 개발⋅운 영한 사례연구를 목적으로 한다. 이러한 목적 달성을 위하여 교양과목 및 비교과 프로그램 운영 현황 분석과 교수자 포커스 인터뷰 및 교육수요자 만족도 조사를 실시하였다. 이에 대한 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 본 교과목은 신입생에게 대학생활 전반에 대한 이해력과 적응력 증진을 위해 반드시 필요하며, 이를 계기로 입학 초 주 2회 학과장과의 집중이수제 수업운영을 통해 대학생활 적응이 어려운 학생을 조기에 발견하여 적절한 지도가 가능하며, 신입생 중도탈락을 예방하는 기회가 마련됨, 둘째, 대학내 교양교육전담기구 조직이 구성되지 않은 대학에서도 전담인력양성과 교양교과 졸업이수 학점 확대를 위한 교양교과목 개발에 대한 실현 가능한 사례가 제시 됨. 셋째, 대학차원에서 교양교육 중요성에 대한 인식 고취를 위하여 교양교과목 담당 교수자 및 전공담당 교수자가 함께 운영 가능한 실질적 사례연구 공유로 교양교육의 확장성이 제시됨. 넷째, 비교과 프로그램 모듈화를 통한 역량기반 교양교과 목 개발과정 및 절차 소개로 향후 대학 교양교육 운영의 다각화 및 발전적 방향 모색에 중요한 기초자료를 제시한 점. 다섯째, 3년간의 종단연구로 교양교육에 대한 교육성과 및 효과성 확대로 실현 가능한 사례를 제시한 점에 중요한 교육적 의미를 둔다.
이에 본 연구는 전문대학 일개 사례연구의 한계점이 있을 수 있으나, 향후 지속적인 연구 자료로 활용될 가치가 있을 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to conduct a case study of the development and operation of the ‘G-MAP blueprint’, a competency-based liberal arts subject that has modularized the non-curricular program of W University. In order to achieve this goal, we conducted an analysis of the operation status of liberal arts and non-curricular programs, focus interviews with professors, and a satisfaction survey of education consumers. The results of this study are as follows.
First, this course is absolutely necessary for new students to improve their understanding and adaptability to college life in general. Appropriate guidance is available, and opportunities are provided to prevent dropout of freshmen, Second, a feasible case of developing liberal arts subjects for nurturing dedicated human resources and expanding the number of credits required for graduation from liberal arts is presented even at universities that do not have an organization dedicated to liberal arts education within the university.
Third, in order to raise awareness of the importance of liberal arts education at the university level, the scalability of liberal arts education is suggested by sharing practical case studies that can be operated together by professors in charge of liberal arts subjects and professors in charge of majors.
Fourth, by introducing the competency-based liberal arts development process and procedure through modularization of the non-curricular program, it presented important basic data for diversifying the operation of university liberal arts education and seeking developmental directions in the future.
Fifth, it has important educational significance in that it presents a case in which it is possible to expand the educational performance and effectiveness of liberal arts education through a three-year longitudinal study.
Therefore, although this study may have limitations as a case study at a junior college, it is expected that it will be of value to be used as a continuous research data in the future.
