전문대학 프로덕트디자인 트랙의 직무역량 중심 환경디자인 교과목 개발 (A Development of the Environmental Design Subject centered on Job-Competency for the Product Design Track of Junior College)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적)전문대학의 설립목적은 직업교육에 있으며 학습자들의 직무역량을 강화시키는 것이 중요하다. I대학은 대학의 핵심역량과 직무역량을 기반으로 교육과정을 트랙 기반으로 개편하였다. 이 연구는 2020년 12월에 디지털산업디자인학과에서 개발한 프로덕트디자인트랙 역량기반 교육과정 개발의 결과로 도출된 환경디자인 분야의 교과목 환경제품디자인(1),(2) 개발에 관한 것이다. 연구의 목적은 직무역량을 기반으로 환경디자인 교과목의 수업모형, 교육의 목표, 교육내용, 평가계획, 주차별 강의계획을 개발하는 것이다. (연구방법) 선행연구와 직무역량을 기반으로 수업모형을 개발했으며, 교육 콘텐츠 도출을 위해 설문조사를 진행하여 학습자의 요구와 산업체의 요구를 파악하였다. 설문은 학습자 50명과 산업체 전문가 18명을 대상으로 진행됐다. 학습자 설문은 교육 콘텐츠, 수업방식, 수업활동, 직무역량과 관련된 총 5개 문항을 질문하였고, 또한 산업체 설문은 기초조사 2개 문항과 교육 콘텐츠 개발을 위한 4개 문항, 총 6개 문항으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 설문의 결과를 분석하여 교육 콘텐츠를 개발하였다. (결과) 첫째, 수업모형은 선행연구와 직무역량을 바탕으로 학습 단계, 학습자와 교수자의 역할을 설정하였다. 둘째, 산업체의 요구가 높은 분야는 이론 중에서 스트리트퍼니처의 이해, 디자인 개발 과정 중에서 형태 및 디테일, 구조 및 재료, 프레젠테이션 과정 중 3D모델링으로 나타남에 따라 교과목의 가장 핵심적인 교육 콘텐츠로 삼았다. 셋째, 환경제품디자인(1)은 기초과정으로 작은 규모의 스트리트퍼니처를 디자인하고, 환경제품디자인(2)는 심화과정으로 쉘터류를 디자인하며 이에 따른 교육내용, 수업방식, 수업활동을 개발했다. 넷째, 평가계획은 직무역량과 구성요소를 근거로 개발하였다. 중간평가는 콘셉트 다이어그램과 아이디어스케치/삼면도를 평가하고, 기말 평가는 모델링, 매핑, 도면, 패널/제안서 등을 평가하도록 하였다. 다섯째, 주차별 강의계획은 학습 단계 기반으로 이론, 조사 및 계획, 실행, 발표의 단계로 계획하였다. 중요한 교육내용은 스트리트퍼니처에 대한 기초이론을 교육하고, 조형적 형태 및 디테일, 구조 및 재료를 검토하여 디자인을 개발하고, 개발된 디자인을 시뮬레이션하도록 교육하는 것이다. (결론) 환경디자인 수업을 통해 학습자들의 직무역량과 취업역량이 강화되고 취업분야가 확대되길 기대한다. 4차 산업시대에 AI 프로그램을 활용하는 디자인 기획력이 중요하다고 판단됨에도 불구하고 현시점에서 반영하지 못한 것이 연구의 한계로 남는다. 따라서 후속 연구로 AI를 활용한 디자인 기획과 개발교육에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) The primary goal of establishing of junior colleges is to provide vocational education, emphasizing the enhancement of learners' job competencies. At University I, a track-based curriculum has been developed based on essential competencies and job requirements. This study pertains to the development of two subjects, namely Environmental Product Design (1) and (2), within environmental design. These subjects emerged as a result of the competency-based curriculum created for the Product Design track by the Department of Digital Industrial Design in December 2020. The objectives of this study encompass the development of an instructional model, subject outline, educational goals, educational content, evaluation plan, and weekly syllabus for the environmental design subject, all grounded in job competency. (Method) The instructional model was developed based on previous studies and job competency. In order to determine educational contents aligned with learners' needs and industry demands, a survey was conducted. The survey involved 50 learners and 18 industry experts. The learners’ questionnaire encompassed five questions relating to educational content, teaching methodologies, class activities, and job competency. In addition, the survey of industry experts consisted of two basic surveys and four questions for the development of educational contents. The outcomes of the survey were analyzed to develop educational contents. (Results) Firstly, an instructional model was established based on previous studies and job competency, encompassing the learning stage, as well as the roles of both learners and instructors. Secondly, areas of high demands from learners and industries were identified, including comprehension of street furniture in theory, form and detail, structure and material during the design development process, and 3D modeling in the presentation phase. Thirdly, Environmental Product Design (1) was designed as a basic course centered on designing small-scale street furniture, while Environmental Product Design (2) was designed as an advanced course focusing on shelter design. Subsequently, educational content, teaching methods, and class activities were devised. Fourthly, the evaluation plan was developed based on job competency and constituent elements. Midterm evaluation encompasses the assessment of concept diagrams and idea sketches/three-dimensional drawings, while the final evaluation assesses modeling, mapping, drawing, panel/proposal, etc. Lastly, a weekly lecture plan was crafted, in the stages of theory, research and planning, execution, and presentation based on the subject syllabus. The important educational contents encompass the basic theory of street furniture, design development by examining formative form and detail, structure and materials, and practical training simulating developed designs.(Conclusions) This research into the environmental design curriculum anticipates a reinforcement of learners' job and employment competencies, thereby expanding their prospects within the realm of employment.
