초록

본 연구는 비대면 시대 청년(대학생)들의 여러 어려움과 문제점의 대안으로서 율곡 이이․우계 성혼․구봉 송익필의 편지글인 삼현수간을 중심으로 삼현의 교유법과 인성계발법을 자기 계발(자존, 성찰), 대인관계(공감, 배려), 공동체 의식(상생, 공존)의 현대적 방법으로 해석한 후, 비대면 사회의 뉴노멀인 디지털 기반의 인성계발방안을 개발하고자 하였다.
코로나19의 장기화, 1인 가구 증가, 4차 산업시대 도래 등으로 인한 본격적인 비대면 시대가 도래하였다. 이에 자아정체성 확립, 지친 삶에 대한 치유, 사회성 발달, 인간관계 회복, 성숙한 시민의식, 교육의 정상화 등이 시급한 현안으로 등장하였다. 이에 본고에서는 비대면 시대에 청년들이 겪고 있는 어려움과 문제점을 유현(儒賢)들의 비대면 교유법과 인성계발 방안을 통해 해결해 보고자 하였다.
이이, 성혼, 송익필은 출사, 요양, 피신 등으로 오랫동안 떨어져 지내는 상황에서도 20대 중반부터 율곡이 사망하고 송익필의 나이가 60세 될 때까지 35년간을 편지를 통해 교유하였다. 이들 삼현은 편지라는 비대면 상황에서도 서로를 아끼고 존중하는 우정은 물론, 성리설과 예론의 토론, 책선(責善), 국가 발전 도모 등 상호간에도의(道義)를 다하여 교학상장(敎學相長)한 진유(眞儒)들로 기호학계에 큰 영향을주었을 뿐 아니라 한국 유학사에도 크게 기여하였다.
이에 본 연구에서는 세 분의 편지글을 모은 삼현수간(三賢手簡)을 중심으로 하되 삼현의 문집을 보완하여, 비대면 사회 청년들의 자아정체성 확립, 정서적 우울감해소, 사회성 개발, 공동체 의식 함양 등의 대안을 찾고자 한다. 이를 위해 삼현의 교유법과 인성계발 사례를 발굴한 후 개인 영역, 대인관계 영역, 공동체 영역으로 분류하였다. 그리고 자료를 개인(자존, 성찰), 대인관계(공감, 배려), 공동체(상생, 공존)의인성 구인요소로 분류하여 현대식 인성계발 자료를 모색해 보았다. 그리고 최종적으로 비대면 시대의 뉴노멀인 디지털 기반 인성계발 방안으로 확장시키고자 하였다.

영어초록

Focusing on Samhyeonsugan (三賢手簡), the letters of Yulgok Yi Yi, Woogye Seong Hon, and Gubong Song Ik-pil, as a solution to problems and difficulties that youths are facing in this untact era, this study has analyzed three sages’ ways of exchange and character cultivation in the contemporary ways of self-development (self-esteem, introspection), interpersonal relationship (empathy, consideration), and community consciousness (mutual living, coexistence) and then attempted to develop the ways of character development based on digital technology that is ‘new normal’ in this untact society.
The untact era has come genuinely along with the continuance of the COVID-19 pandemic, increase of one-person households, and the age of the fourth industry.
Accordingly, pending issues that have to be resolved urgently such as establishing self-identity, healing exhausted life, developing sociality, recovering interpersonal relationship, acquiring mature citizenship, and normalizing education have arisen.
Hereupon, this researcher has tried to settle down difficulties and problems that youths are facing in this untact era through Confucian sages’ ways of untact association and character cultivation.
Even when Yi Yi, Seong Hon, and Song Ik-pil were falling apart for long due to their official career, convalescence, or flight, they exchanged with letters for 35 years from the mid-20’s to the time when Yulgok died and Song Ik-pil became 60 years old. Even in the untact circumstances of exchanging letters, those three sages not only accumulated friendship loving and respecting each other but discussed the theories of Neo-Confucianism (性理說) and the theory of Li (禮論), influenced considerably the circles of Gihohak as true Confucians that had realized Teacher and Disciple Growing Together in the Process of Teaching and Learning (敎學相長) through the mutual exhibition of morality to recommend good deeds and promote national development, and contributed significantly to the history of Confucianism in Korea.
Focusing on Samhyeonsugan, a collection of letters between the three sages, and examining their collections of works, too, complementarily, this author has attempted to find solutions to problems lying in youths’ establishment of self-identity, elimination of emotional depression, development of sociality, and cultivation of community consciousness in this untact society. To address the goal, this study excavated the cases of the three sages’ exchange and character cultivation and then divided them into personal, interpersonal, and community areas. In addition, classifying the materials into the constructs of personality in personal (self-esteem, introspection), interpersonal (empathy, consideration), and community (mutual living, coexistence) areas, this author sought materials for character development in this contemporary age. Finally, this researcher tried to extend it to the method of character development based on digital technology that is ‘new normal’ in this untact society.
