사회적 배제가 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 및임파워먼트의 매개효과분석 (The Effects of Social Exclusion on the Life Satisfaction and the Mediating Effect of Empowerment)

초록

본 연구는 사회적 배제의 주요 변수들이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향과 더불어 임파워먼트의 매개효과를 살펴보는데 주된 목적을 두고 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하고자 하였다.
분석결과, 사회적 배제의 하위변수들로 사용한 경제배제, 사회배제, 정치배제 변수들 모두 삶의 만족도에 직접적으로 유의미한 부(-)적인 영향을 미쳤고, 이 중 경제배제와 사회배제는 임파워먼트를 통해 간접적으로도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 매개변수인 임파워먼트는 삶의 만족도에 직접적으로 정(+)적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 이들 변수들이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 상대적 영향력의 크기는 사회배제(β=-0.438), 임파워먼트(β=0.349), 경제배제(β=-0.318), 정치배제(β=-0.107)의 순으로 입증되었다.
이러한 분석결과는 삶의 만족도 향상에 주된 관심을 가진 정책결정자들이 향후 정책수립 시 중･고령자의 삶의 만족도를 높이기 위해서는 사회배제, 임파워먼트, 경제배제, 정치배제 등의 변수들을 관리수단으로 고려해야하며 이와 동시에 이들 변수들 간의 우선순위를 반영해야 함을 시사하는 것이라 볼 수 있다.

영어초록

This study sets social exclusion as an independent variable that affected life satisfaction. Economic exclusion, social exclusion, and political exclusion were seted as sub-variables of social exclusion. The study also sets empowerment as a mediating variable between social exclusion and life satisfaction. Based on these variables, this study empirically analyzed the relative size of influence that social exclusion and empowerment have on life satisfaction. The structural equation model analysis was performed to investigate the influence between variables based on the path model.
The results of the analysis are as follows. First, in the verification of the hypothesis that social exclusion would have a direct negative influence on empowerment, the economic and social variables had a significant influence on empowerment, except the political variable as a sub-variable of social exclusion. Second, in the verification of the hypothesis that social exclusion would have a direct negative influence on life satisfaction, the economic, social, and political exclusions, as sub-variables of the social exclusion, had a significant influence. Third, in the result of the hypothesis verification that empowerment would have a direct positive influence on the life satisfaction presented significant result. These results showed that economic and social exclusions had a direct significant negative influence on life satisfaction and were indirectly influenced by empowerment. On the other hand, political exclusion had a direct significant negative influence on life satisfaction, but it was not indirectly influence by empowerment. And empowerment, a mediating variable, had a significant direct influence on life satisfaction. Meanwhile, for the total values of direct and indirect effects that empowerment and the main variables of social exclusion had on life satisfaction for the middle-aged and elderly people, the absolute value was the highest for social exclusion (β=-0.438), then empowerment (β=0.349), economic exclusion (β=-0.318), and political exclusion (β=-0.107).
These results show that variables like social exclusion, empowerment, economic exclusion, and political exclusion should be considered as an effective management measure when establishing policies that improve life satisfaction for the middle-aged and elderly people. Additionally, they should be used effectively by considering the size of priorities among variables.
