초록

요서지역 흥륭와문화기 서랍목륜하 일대에서 시작된 적석묘 제도는 긴 잠복기를 지나 홍산문화 중기 무렵 대릉하 일대를 중심으로 다시 부활하게 된다. 홍산문화기 대릉하 일대의 대표 적석 단총인 우하량 유적은 3층위를 이루고 있어 홍산문화기 적석 단총제의 성립 및 변천 과정을 명확하게 보여준다.
먼저 ① 1기 하층유존 수혈토광묘 단계(홍산문화 전기, B.C.4500년∼B.C.4000년)를 지나, ② 2기 하층적석총 단계(홍산문화 중기, B.C.4000년∼B.C.3500년)가 되자흥륭와문화기의 ‘석권’ 방식을 계승한 ‘부석-통형기권’ 방식의 적석묘 전통이 부활하였다. 다시 ③ 3기 상층적석총 단계(홍산문화 후기, B.C.3500년∼B.C.3000년)가 되자 급작스럽게 적석총의 규모가 커지고 외형적으로도 전혀 새로운 ‘3층-원·방-환호’ 방식이 등장하였다. 흥륭와문화기의 ‘석권’ 방식에서 알 수 있듯이 총의 시작은 원형이었고 단을 겸하였다. 그러다가 상층적석총 조기에 이르러 거대한 원형 단총의 보조 제단으로 ‘방대’ 형태가 등장하였다. 상층적석총 만기에 순수 제단 용도의 ‘원단’이 새롭게 등장하면서 총은 순수 제단과 구분, ‘원단’ · ‘방총’의 분리가 생겨났다.
B.C.4000년∼B.C.3500년경 요동 백두산 서편의 고제단군은 구릉성 입지, 3층원단, 환호를 특징으로 하는 ‘환호를 두른 구릉성 제천시설(3층원단류)’로서 B.C.3500년∼B.C.3000년 요서 우하량 상층적석총 단계 ‘3층-원·방-환호’ 방식의 원류이다. 이즈음 백두산 서편(배달국 천평지역)에서 전형적인 선도사상에 입각한 새로운 형태의 적석 단총제가 생겨나 수백년의 시차를 가지고서 요서 우하량 지역(배달국 청구지역)으로 전파되었던 것이다.
상층적석총 단계에서는 ‘석권’ 위로 ‘3층-원·방-환호’가 덧씌워진 방식도 나타났다. ‘석권’ 방식이 흥륭와문화기 이래 요서지역의 전통적인 구식, ‘3층-원·방-환호’방식이 요동 백두산지역에서 새롭게 생겨난 신식이므로, 양자의 결합은 요서지역 구래의 선도제천문화와 요동지역의 새로운 선도제천문화의 결합을 보여준다. 물론 그 정치·사회적 의미는 요서 토착세력과 요동 백두산 맥족간의 종족적 결합, 또는 요동 백두산 맥족으로의 지배세력 교체이다.

영어초록

The stone-mound tomb tradition of Liaoxi遼西 area, which was started in the area of Xilanmulun River西拉木倫河 during Xinglongwa興隆窪 Culture, was revived around the area of Daling River大凌河 during the middle of Hungshan culture. The period classification of Uaryang stone-mound tomb, which is a typical stone-mound tomb in the area of Daling River, is as follows. ① Lowest relics period : the early of Hungshan Culture(B.C.4500∼B.C.4000) ② Lower-layer of stonemound tomb period : the middle of Hungshan culture(B.C.4000∼B.C.3500) ③ Upper-layer of stone-mound tomb period : the late of Hungshan culture(B.C.3500∼B.C.3000). ③ period can divide into early and late period again.
The tomb form of ① period was ‘pit burial’ and the case of ② period was ‘stone-mound tomb with flagstone and surrounding non-bottom tubular potteries無底筒形器’, succeeded ‘stone-mound tomb with surrounding stone walls’ since Xinglongwa Culture. By ③ period, the size of stone-mound tomb was enlarged suddenly and a whole new form, ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’ typed altar⋅tomb was emerged.
Particularly noteworthy here is the branching process of ‘circle altar⋅square tomb’. Originally the tomb began in a circular shape and served as an altar. Next, by ③ period, the square altar appeared as a subsidiary altar of a huge circular tomb(altar). As the circle altar for pure altar use was newly introduced, the tomb was separated from the pure altar and became square shape. Through these process, the altar became circle shape and the tomb became circle shape(since Xinglongwa Culture) or square shape(since the late of Hungshan culture).
The ‘three-layered circular altar⋅tomb with attached square altar’ type, which appeared at the beginning of ③ period, was first started in the western part of Mt. Baektu白頭. Also the ancient altars in the western part of Mt. Baektu featured the hilly location, the three-layered circular altar and moat. These features was the same as ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’ typed altar⋅tomb of ③ period in Uaryang area. These showed that ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’ typed altar⋅tomb of ③ period started from the western part of Mt. Baekdu and spreaded to Uaryang area. As the elements of ‘circle⋅square’ and ‘three-layer’ reflected ‘Circle⋅Square⋅Triangle (Chun天⋅Ji地⋅In人) thoughts’ of Sundo仙道, we can find out that ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’ typed altar⋅tomb was the result of the full-scale development of the Sundo Heaven Ritual祭天 Culture.
During ③ period, the combination of the top of ‘the stone-mound tomb with surrounding stone walls since Xinglongwa Culture’ and the overlay of ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’ appeared.
As ‘the stone-mound tomb with surrounding stone walls since Xinglongwa Culture’ was old type and ‘three layer-circle⋅square-moat’, which was started in the western part of Mt. Baektu was new type, the combination of the two shows that the old Sundo Heaven Ritual Culture in Liaoxi area and the new Sundo Heaven Ritual Culture in Liaodong遼東 area were combined into one.
