간헐적 팬데믹 시대에서 좋은 말하기와 글쓰기 (Good Speaking and Writing in the Age of Intermittent Pandemics)

초록

의미를 중심으로 인류사 700만 년을 압축하여 살펴보고 화쟁기호학을 이용하여 은유와 환유를 중심으로 의미가 형성되는 원리를 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 좋은 말과 나쁜 말에 대해서 분석했다. 이어서 간헐적 팬데믹 시대에 부합하는 좋은 글을 ‘낯설게하기’, ‘반영과 굴절이 조화를 이룬 글쓰기’, ‘아포리아를 담은 웅숭깊은 글쓰기’, ‘공감과 치유의 글쓰기’, ‘생태적 글쓰기’ 등 다섯 가지로 나누어 그 개념과 방법을 종합했다.
시대를 떠나 좋은 글은 형식과 내용에서 낯설게하기를 통해 창조성을 이룩한 글이다. 낯익은 것을 자동화하여 생각하거나 감상하는 것을 지양하여, 새로운 은유와 환유, 체험을 통하여 사물의 낯선 의미를 드러내고 형식을 독창적이고 체계적으로 엮는 작업이 필요하다. 우리는 이를 통하여 사물의 숨겨진 세계에 다가가고 사물을 새롭게 감상할 수 있다.
비참한 현실이 전개되는 간헐적 팬데믹 시대에서 현실을 거울처럼 구체적으로 반영하는 것과 이를 프리즘처럼 굴절하여 형상화하는 것을 종합하는 글쓰기가 필요하다.
글에 깊이가 담기려면 아포리아(aporia)를 설정하여야 한다. 자신이 쓰려는 글의 주제와 관련하여 쟁점, 난제, 딜레마, 수수께끼를 만들고 연구와 사색을 하여 이를 인물, 서사, 문장으로 형상화하거나 재현한다.
코로나 사태를 맞아 우리는 아픈 자를 우선하는 것이 정의임을 깨달았다. 좀 덜 세련되더라도 타자의 아픔을 자신이 아픈 것처럼 공감하는 글쓰기가 필요하다. 이는 타자에 대한 연민과 공감, 자비심만으로 부족하며, 동일성을 깨는 대대(待對), 혹은 눈부처의 사유가 필요하다. 이를 통하여 나와 너, 동일성과 타자의 경계를 해체하고 그의 고통을 나의 아픔처럼 공감하며 글을 쓴다.
생태적 글쓰기는 환경이나 생태를 소재나 주제로 하는 것으로는 부족하다. 환경문학과 생명문학을 넘어서서 생태문학으로 전환하여야 하며, 작자 자신부터 생태적 감수성을 복원해야 한다. 어디에 있든 가까운 숲으로 가서 몸과 마음이 자연과 하나가 되어 그 느낌과 사고를 글로 표현한다.

영어초록

This study summarized 7 million years of human history and analyzed the principle that meaning is formed centering on metaphor and metonymy using Hwajaeng semiotics, and examined good and bad speakings. Next, I analyzed five good writings that fit in the age of intermittent pandemics: estrangement, writings in which reflection and refraction are harmonized, writing with aporia, writing of empathy and healing, and ecological writing.
Apart from the times, what achieve creativity by making them unfamiliar in form and content is good writing. It is necessary to avoid thinking or appreciating familiar things by automating them, revealing new meanings of objects through new metaphors, metonymies, and experiences, and intertwining forms in a unique and systematic manner. Through this work, we can approach the hidden world of things and appreciate things anew.
In the age of intermittent pandemic, it is necessary to write a synthesis that reflects reality like a mirror and refractions it like a prism. The reflective text captures the fact that the refractive text is thrown away from reality, and the reflective text releases the fence that the reflective text has struck.
In order to have depth in the writing, the writer must represent aporia in the writing. The artist creates issues, difficulties, dilemmas, and riddles in relation to the subject of his writing, and after deeply researching and contemplating them, he reproduces them as characters, narratives, and sentences.
In the face of the coronavirus 19, we realized that giving priority to the sick is justice. Even if it is less sophisticated, it is necessary to write that empathizes with the pain of others as if you or your children are sick. Such writing lacks only compassion or empathy toward the other and requires thoughts of daedae(待對) or Buddha-in-other’s pupil to break the identity. Through this, the author breaks the boundary between I and you and he writes with empathy for other’s pain like mine.
Ecological writing is not enough to use the environment or ecology as a subject or matter. Ecological sensitivity must be restored from the artist himself. Wherever you are, go to a nearby forest, where your body and mind become one with nature and express your feelings and thoughts in writing.
