어린이집 보육교사의 영아미술활동에 대한 인식 및 접근 방법 연구: 만 2세 반 담임보육교사 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on the Recognition and the Approach to the Art Activity for Toddlers in Child-care Center Teachers: Focusing on a Case in Two-year-old Homeroom Teachers)

초록

영아기는 주변 환경을 인식하기 시작하지만 언어적 자기표현이 자유롭지 못한 시기이다. 따라서 감각을 사 용하여 풍부하게 주변 환경을 탐색해 보는 미술적 경험은 영아들의 다양한 발달에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 최근 우리나라는 주 양육자의 사회진출, 핵가족화 그리고 조기교육의 관심 등으로 인해 교육 기관에 보내어지는 아 이들의 연령이 낮아지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 영아들이 미술활동을 처음으로 경험 할 수 있는 어린이집에서 보육교사가 가지고 있는 미술활동에 대한 인식 및 접근방법을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 보육교사 의 기본 역량 및 역할에 대해 이론적으로 고찰하고 만 2세 영아의 특징을 신체적, 정서적, 인지적으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 또한 보육교사들이 영아미술활동에 대해 어떤 생각과 활동 계획을 가지고 있으며, 나아가 발전적 인 영아미술활동에 대한 아이디어는 무엇인지 서울특별시 소재 어린이집 만 2세 담임교사 5명을 대상으로 심 층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 보육교사들은 영아미술활동에 대해 그 중요성을 인식하고 있으며, 영아미술 활동에서 물리적 환경의 구비와 함께 영아와 보육교사와의 상호작용이 핵심요소라고 보았다. 그리고 보육교사 들은 영아미술활동을 계획할 때 인터넷, 참고문헌, SNS 등을 활용하여 안전성, 독창성 중심의 자료를 선정하 고 있었다. 발전적인 영아미술활동에 대해서는 다양한 프로그램 개발, 제도적 측면의 개선 그리고 보육교사의 창의성, 사고의 확장이 중요하다고 강조하였다. 하지만 현재 보육교사 양성 및 보수 교육단계에서는 이러한 영 아미술활동에 대한 전문적인 역량강화 방법을 찾기 어렵다고 하였다. 따라서 이러한 현장의 목소리를 반영한 영아미술활동에 대한 교수-학습법, 교육자료, 보육교사 연수 프로그램이 시급히 개발될 필요성이 있다.

영어초록

Infancy begins to perceive the surrounding environment, but fails to be free from linguistic self-expression. Thus, the artistic experience, which explores richly through using a sense, gives a help to toddlers' various development. The age of children who are sent to educational institution is getting lower owing to a primary care-giver's entry into society, a nuclear family pattern, and an interest in early educa- tion recently in the home of our country. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to examine the recog- nition and the approach to the art activity that a child care teacher has at a child care center where toddlers can experience the art activity for the first time. For this, it theoretically considered the basic competency and role in a child care teacher, and inspected with dividing a two-year-old toddler's feature into physical, emotional and cognitive characteristics. Also, the in-depth interview was progressed targeting two-year-old homeroom teachers at 5 child care centers where are located in Seoul, as to which idea the child care teachers have on art activity for toddlers, to how they plan art activity, and further to which thought they have about developmental art activity. As a result of the research, the child-care center teachers are perceiv- ing the art activity for toddlers importantly, and considered that the interaction between physical environ- ment and a teacher is a key element in the art activity for toddlers. Child care teachers selected materials in consideration of the material exploration, stability and originality through using internet, book and SNS, which will plan the art activity for toddlers. Also, in terms of the developmental art activity for toddlers, they emphasized the importance of the development in diverse programs, of the improvement in institutional as- pect, of the creativity in teachers, and of the extension in thinking. However, they mentioned that it is diffi- cult to find the data collection and the empowering method regarding this art activity for toddlers at the current stage of the child-care-teacher training and continuing education. Therefore, there is a need to im- mediately develop a variety of teaching-learning methods, educational materials and the teacher training programs in terms of the art activity for toddlers that reflected this voice of the field.
