중⋅고급 단계 한국어 학습자의 조사 결합 사용 양상 연구: ‘까지’와 ‘만’이 포함된 조사 결합을 중심으로 (A Study on the Usage Patterns of Particle-Combination by Intermediate and Advanced Korean Language Learners: Focusing on Combinations including ‘kkaji(까지)’ and ‘man(만)’)

초록

목적 본 연구는 중⋅고급 단계 한국어 학습자들의 ‘까지’와 ‘만’이 포함된 조사 결합 사용 양상을 분석하고 조사 결합 교육을 위한제언을 제시하는 것에 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위하여 4종의 한국어 교재와 TOPIK 기출문제 10회분을 분석하여 조사 결합 유형과 학습 내용을 분석하였다.. 분석한 교육자료를 토대로 ‘까지’와 ‘만’이 포함된 조사 결합 유형을 분류하고 이를 바탕으로 문법성 판단 테스트를 구성하여 부산과 서울 소재대학 부설 한국어교육 기관에서 한국어를 학습 중인 중⋅고급 한국어 학습자 118명의 조사 결합 사용 양상을 알아보고자 하였다.
결과 한국어교육 자료 분석 결과 ‘까지’와 ‘만’이 포함된 29개의 조사 결합이 총 962회에 걸쳐 등장하였으나 한국어 교재에서 조사결합 관련 교육 내용이 매우 제한적으로 다루어짐을 확인할 수 있었다. 학습자 대상 문법성 판단 테스트 결과 누락>대치>순서>형태> 첨가 순으로 오류가 나타났다. 조사 결합 자체에 익숙하지 않은 학습자들은 조사 결합 사용을 회피하여 누락시키거나 결합 규칙 또는문맥에 맞게 조사 결합을 올바로 사용하지 못하였고, 조사 결합의 선⋅후행 순서와 형태를 지키지 못하였으며, 불필요하게 조사를첨가하는 양상을 보였다.
결론 조사 결합에 대한 인식과 학습 경험이 부족한 학습자들을 위해 명시적인 교육, 의미와 형태를 동시에 고려한 교육, 타 기능영역과 융합한 교육이 필요함을 확인하였다. 이와 더불어 조사 결합 목록 구축과 추가적인 조사 결합 교육 관련 연구가 활발하게이루져야 함을 제안하였다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the usage patterns of particle-combination that include ‘kkaji(까지)’ and ‘man(만)’ by intermediate and advanced Korean language learners and to suggest educational recom mendations for teaching particle-combination.
Methods For this purpose, four Korean language textbooks and 10 sets of TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean) past exam questions were analyzed to examine the types and contents of particle-combinations. Based on the analyzed educational materials, the study classified the types of particle-combinations including ‘kkaji(까지)’ and ‘man(만)’ and designed a grammaticality judgment test. This test was conducted with 118 intermediate and ad vanced Korean learners at Korean language education institutes affiliated with universities in Busan and Seoul to investigate their usage patterns of particle combinations..
Results The analysis of Korean language education materials revealed a total of 29 types of particle-combinations including ‘kkaji(까지)’ and ‘man(만)’ appearing 962 times in total, but it was found that educational contents on these combinations is very limited in Korean language textbooks. The grammaticality judgment test conducted with learners revealed errors in the order of ‘omission > substitution > sequence > form > addition’. Learners un familiar with particle-combination often avoided their use, leading to omission, or failed to use them correctly in accordance with combination rules or contexts. Errors also included incorrect adherence to the order and form of combinations as well as unnecessary addition of particles.
Conclusions The study confirmed the need for explicit instruction, education that simultaneously considers meaning and form, and integrated education that combines particle-combination with other functional areas for learners lack of awareness and learning experience on particle-combination. Furthermore, the study proposed the development of a comprehensive list of particle-combination and the necessity for further research on the instruction.
