초록

During the pre-modern era, the monarch in East Asia was called the son of heaven. The concept of the son of heaven existed in the China and nomadic world for a long time. From the records of the Three Kingdoms, it is confirmed that Korean nationals also used the concept. Goryeo also recognized the monarch as the the son of heaven in accordance with the traditional worldview of the Three Kingdoms period, and called it the Great King. The Great King(大王) of Goryeo was one of the equivalent power of the East Asian world, along with the Emperor(皇帝) of the China and the Khan of the Nomadic World.
Goryeo belonging to the culture of Chinese word, borrowed the term referring to its own monarch from the China, and in the process, it was also referred to as the Emperor, which is equivalent to the Great king.
The fact that the Great King of Goryeo was an equal authority in international relations at the time. so the method of understanding the Goryeo era will be revived from the understanding of international relations on the countries established by the China and the Nomadic world, It means there is a need to see other aspect.
