베트남시장에서 한･중･일간 경쟁상황과 한국의 수출 경쟁력 연구 (A Study on the Export Competition with China and Japan in Vietnam and Competitiveness of Korean Products)

초록

최근 중국과 일본 기업의 베트남 진출이 활발해지면서 우리와 수출 경쟁이 심화되고 있어 한국의 對베트남 수출경쟁력에 대한 심도 있는 분석의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 베트남 시장의 경쟁 상황과 경쟁국과 비교한 한국 제품의 수출 경쟁력에 대해 분석했다.
베트남 시장의 경쟁 상황을 수출 경합도(ESI)모형을 이용해 ‘14년~’17년 한국과 경쟁국의 對베트남 수출을 분석한 결과 중국과의 총 수출경합은 다소 상승하는 반면, 일본과의 수출경합도는 소폭 하락하는 양상을 보였으며, 한국의 주요 수출 품목은 경쟁국과 경합이 더욱 치열한 것으로 나타났다.
불변시장점유율(CMS) 모형으로 ‘15~‘16년 한국과 경쟁국의 對베트남 수출 변화 요인을 분석한 결과 경쟁력 상승으로 수출이 중국, 일본보다 크게 증가한 품목은 전화기, 전기기기와 그 부분품, 액정디바이스, 인쇄회로, 측정용･ 검사용 기기 등으로 나타났으며, 중소기업의 주력 품목 중에서는 의류부속품과 플라스틱 제품이 경쟁력상승으로 인해 경쟁국보다 큰 폭으로 수출이 증가하면서 긍정적인 전망을 보였다. 한국이 경쟁국에 비해 경쟁열위를 보인 품목은 다이오드･트렌지스터, 반도체보울･웨이퍼･평판디스플레이의 제조용기기, 기타기계류와 중소기업 주력 품목인 플라스틱제 접착성 판, 플라스틱제 도포 직물 등으로 향후 수출이 감소할 위험이 높으므로 제품의 품질･가격경쟁력과관세･규제 등의 수출환경이 개선되어야할 필요가 있음을 시사했다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of export competition in Vietnam and the competitiveness of Korean products, comparing with China and Japan.
The degree of competition with major competitors is analyzed with the method of Export Similarity Index(ESI). The export competitiveness of Korean Products in Vietnam is researched with Constant Market Share(CMS) which classifies the reason of change in exports into three factors: the competitiveness of Korean products, the product composition of Vietnam market and total demand of Vietnam.
According to the analysis of the competition situation in Vietnam using ESI, the competition between Korea and China has increased slightly from 2014 to 2017, while the one between Korea and Japan has decreased gradually. It also presents that Korea’s major export items to Vietnam are in more fierce competition with China and Japan than the others.
The result of analysis on the Korea’s export competitiveness using CMS indicates that the export from Korea to Vietnam rises due to higher competitive power than China and Japan. The export competitiveness is higher than China and Japan in case of telephone, electric appliance and it parts, display of telephone, circuit, measuring and inspection equipment. Among the main products of small sized enterprises, export of the clothing accessories and plastic products increases due to their competitiveness more than China and Japan. The items which have lower competitiveness in Vietnam are diode･transistor, semiconductor bowl･wafer･flat panel display manufacturing equipment and other machinery. As for the main products of small sized enterprises, the plastic adhesive sheets and plastic coated fabrics are lowly competitive compared to the Chinese and Japanese products. Aside from some electronic products of which export is strongly influenced by investment decision of few major Korean companies, the study implies that the items of which export decreases due to their lower competitiveness than china and Japan should be improved in terms of the quality and the price.
