회계교육 경쟁력 강화 방안에 관한 연구－W대학교를 중심으로－ (A Research on the Competitiveness Reinforcement of Accounting Education－Focus on W－University－)

초록

본 연구는 대전지역 소재 W대학에서 운용한 특별교육과정이 회계교육의 성과에 영향을미치는 지를 살펴보고 이에 따른 문제점과 성공적 운영을 위한 전제를 제시하고자 하였다.
본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 개설한 특별교육과정은 문헌연구를 통하여 얻어진 자료를 토대로 구성하였으며, 회계교육의 성과는 객관적인 수치로 확인할 수 있는 한국세무사회, 한국생산성본부 등에서 시행하고 있는 국가공인 자격시험의 합격률을 가지고 측정하였다.
특별교육과정을 통해 다음과 같은 여러 가지 긍정적 효과를 거둘 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다.
첫째, 자격증 취득률이 상당히 높아졌다. 전산회계1급과 전산세무2급의 경우 80% 이상의합격률을 보이고 있어 전국합격률의 2배를 초과하고 있으며, 세무회계2급의 경우 76%의 합격률을 보이고 있다. ERP 1급은 인사, 회계, 생산, 물류 등 4개 분야 모두에서 90%이상의합격률을 보이고 있다. 둘째, 전공학생들이 자격증 취득을 위해 별도의 학원에 다니지 않아도 됨으로서 경제적으로 절약이 가능하다. 셋째, 회계교육의 경쟁력 강화에 이바지함은 물론, 대학전체의 취업률 제고에도 상당한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 확인되었다.
이와 같은 긍정적인 효과에도 불구하고 초창기에는 여러 문제점이 발견되었다.
첫째, 학과 및 학생들의 특별교육과정에 대한 이해부족이 불신을 낳아 초창기의 합격률이다소 떨어졌다. 둘째, 경험 부족으로 인하여 학생들의 동기 부여를 효과적으로 하지 못하였다.
셋째, 특별교육과정의 핵심적인 구성원인 강사의 전문성이 부족하였다. 넷째, 최신 시설을갖춘 실습실 확보가 어려웠다.
연구결과 대전지역 소재 W대학에서 운용한 특별교육과정은 회계교육의 성과에 긍정적인영향을 미치고 있으며, 다음과 같은 성공적 운영을 위한 전제를 제시하고자 한다.
첫째, 행정부서와 긴밀할 협조체제가 필요하다. 둘째, 적절한 프로그램을 개발하여야 한다.
취업에 도움이 되는 자격증을 위주로 개설하여야 하며, 주당 수업 시수도 충분히 확보하여야 한다. 셋째, 강의 개설목표와 일치하는 강의 담당교수를 지정하여야 한다.

영어초록

The aim of this research is to investigate whether a special curriculum conducted at W(a university) University in Daejeon influences achievement in accounting education and an additional purpose of this paper is to show preconditions for problems and their successful management through experimental means.
Many positive effects were apparent due to the special curriculum and these are as follows ：First, there is a high improvement in acquisition rate of certificates. In the case of the First and Second Grade of Computerized Accounting, the ratio of successful applicants is more than 80% and this is twice as high as the national pass ratio. There is a 78% pass ratio in the Second Grade of Tax Accounting. All applicants show more than a 90% pass rate in the areas of personnel affairs, accounting, production, and logistics of the First Grade of ERP. Secondly, as the students do not have to take courses at a separate, private academic institution, it is economically beneficial for the students in terms of saving money.
Thirdly, it was proven that this special curriculum influences and supports not only competitiveness and the reinforcement of accounting education, but also the university student’s employment rate.
However, in spite of these positive effects, there were several problems at the beginning of the course. First, the students and the departments did not fully understand the curriculum and this created low reliability regarding the course and lead to the low pass rates at the beginning of the course. Second, there was a lack of experience on the part of the staff. The staff failed to motivate the students. Thirdly, the professionalism of lecturers who were core members of the course was not sufficient. Fourth, it was difficult to have laboratories equipped with the newest facilities.
As a result of the research, it can be said that the special curriculum carried out at W(a university) University in Daejeon had a positive influence on accounting education and this paper suggests the following preconditions for a successful operation. First, a cooperative system with the administrative department is needed. Second, appropriate programs need tobe developed. Certification programs should be opened which can be helpful to students in order for them to gain a job. Appropriate class hours per week should be supported. Third, it is important to have lecturers who fully understand the course goal.
