    초록

    This study was intended to provide basic materials about female softball athletes by analyzing their attention and competition anxiety and identifying the effect of their attention on competition anxiety. To attain this goal, the questionnaire research was conducted for a total of 118 persons composed of 50 female college softball athletes and 68 female high school softball athletes. 98 questionnaires except 20 ones judged to be poor or unreliable in content were analyzed using SPSS 10.1. As a result, the following findings were obtained:
    First, it was found that there was no significant difference in cognitive anxiety and physical anxiety of competition anxiety according to the level of schools. And it was found that BET, BIT and NAR were high in attention in the group of female college softball athletes and that OIT was high in the group of female high school softball athletes. Accordingly, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in them between both groups.
    Second, competition anxiety showed the tendency to be rise in cognitive anxiety over the period between 3 and 5 years and drop in over 5 years again according to their career. And there was no difference in physical anxiety. It was found that self-confidence increased with increasing career. There was a statistically significant difference between less than 3 years and more than 5 years as a result of the post-test. And the female softball athletes showed a statistically significant difference in OET, OIT and RED in the form of attention. And they showed a difference in OET the period between less than 3 years and more than 5 years as a result of the post-test. And it was found that there was a significant difference in OIT between 3 years and 5 years and in RED between less than 3 years and 5 years.
    Third, the analysis of the effect of attention on competition anxiety showed that OED and BET had an effect on cognitive anxiety and that OET had an effect on physical anxiety. And it was found that BET, OET, NAR, BIT had an effect on self-confidence.
