대구 섬유산업과 기계산업의 연계구조 및 경쟁력 비교 (A Comparative Study on Industrial Linkage Structure and Competitiveness Between Textile and Machinery Industries in Daegu Metropolitan City)

초록

본 연구는 대구의 전통 주력산업인 섬유산업과 신흥 주력산업인 기계산업의 산업연계구조와 경쟁력을 비교분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대구 섬유산업과 기계산업은 2005년, 2010년, 2013년 산업내 전·후방 연계가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 산업간 연계는 금융 및 보험서비스, 도소매서비스와 연계효과가 공통적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 입지적 비교우위는 두 산업 모두 산출액과 취업자수 기준으로 특화산업인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 제조업 부가가치 기준의 산업 경쟁력에서는 섬유산업이 입지여건을 양호하나 산업구조는 상대적으로 뒤떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 기계산업은 입지여건과 산업구조가 모두 양호하여 집적이익이 실현될수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 국제 경쟁력에서는 섬유산업과 기계산업이 전반적으로 경쟁력을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 섬유산업은 지속적으로 경쟁력 수치가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 종합하면, 대구 섬유산업과 기계산업은 국내외적으로 우수한 경쟁력을 갖추고 있지만 성장에 한계로 다가올 요소를 지니고 있다. 이들 두 주력산업의 활성화를 위해서는 연계산업과의 동반성장이 필요하다. 또한 섬유산업은 융합섬유와 같은 창조산업화를 추진해야 하고 기계산업은 내수시장 위주에서 글로벌시장으로 독자적인 판로를 개척해야 한다.

영어초록

This study compared industrial linkage structures and competitiveness betweenthe textile and machinery industries in Daegu metropolitan city. Firstly, the study resultindicated that the textile and machinery industries had the highest intra-industrialforward and backward linkages in 2005, 2010, and 2013. Moreover, it was shown thatthese industries were highly linked with the finance and insurance services and wholesaleand retail sales industries.
Secondly, locational comparative advantage of these industries showed that the textileindustry and machinery industry were specialized in terms of output and number ofemployees.
Thirdly, in terms of value-added manufacturing, it was found that the textile industrieswere favorable in location condition while they were vulnerable to industrial structure.
On the other hand, the study revealed that machinery industries were in a good state ofboth location condition and industrial structure which enhances agglomerationeconomies.
Lastly, it was found that both textile industries and machinery industries wereinternationally competitive. However, the textile industries’ competitiveness hascontinuously decreased.
In summary, though textile and machinery industries have competitive advantagedomestically and internationally, they have factors that will hamper further economic growth. In order to facilitate the growth of these textile and machinery industries, it isnecessary to have both inter/intra-industry linkage and accompanied growth. In addition,textile industries should promote creative industry, such as fusion textiles. Moreover,machinery industries should cultivate a global market rather than a domestic market.
