섬 관광목적지 경쟁력지표 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Developing Indicators of Competitiveness for Island Tourist Destinations)

초록

The main purpose of the study was to develop evaluation indicators for competitiveness of island tourist destinations, and the specific objectives were as follows: 1)to identify conceptual framework for competitiveness of island tourist destinations and 2)to develop the indicators for evaluation of competitiveness regarding island tourist destinations. Through reviewing related literatures, a total of 203 indicators were formulated including the quantitative ones of 85 related with general and sustainable notions and 118 qualitative indicators regarding stake-holders such as travelers, residents, and governments. The first and second Delphi surveys with experts were performed to gain proper indicators for competitiveness evaluation of island tourist destinations. Finally, the 162 indicators were listed and the hierarchy process survey was performed to have the importance factors (priorities)among variables. The results indicated valuable implications in terms of academic and practical perspectives. For example, the sustainable indicators presented the highest priority (48.5%), followed by general factors (21.9%), travelers (12.8%) and residents (12.3%), indicating major difference from nation and city competitiveness considerations.
