COVID-19 전⋅후 초등과학 평가 실태 분석 및 블렌디드 러닝 상황에서 평가 방법 제안: 포트폴리오와 루브릭을 중심으로 (Analysis of elementary school science evaluation before and after COVID-19 and suggestion of evaluation methods in the blended learning situation: Focusing on portfolio and rubric)

초록

목적 본 연구의 목적은 COVID-19 전⋅후의 초등학교 과학 수업의 평가 실태를 분석하고, 분석한 결과와 선행 연구를 바탕으로블렌디드 러닝에 적합하면서 교육과정 성취 기준 도달 정도를 확인하기에 수월한 평가 방법을 제안하는 데 있다.
방법 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 2019년부터 2021년까지 3년 동안 서울특별시 소재 13개 초등학교의 평가 계획을 분석하였다.
그리고 더 자세한 사항을 파악하고자 해당 초등학교의 담당 교사를 대상으로 설문 조사하였다. 실태 분석 결과를 토대로 블렌디드러닝 상황에서 지필 평가와 실험 관찰 평가의 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 방법에 관한 선행 연구를 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 토대로교육과정 성취 기준 도달 정도를 파악할 수 있고 역량 중심 평가에 적합한 평가 방법을 도출하고자 하였다.
결과 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학과 평가 분야의 수는 2019년에는 4개 분야를 모두 평가하였으나, COVID-19 상황 이후인 2020년에는 평균 1.85개, 2021년에는 평균 3.15개로 축소되었다. 둘째, 평가 방법은 COVID-19 상황 전⋅후 모두 지필 평가방법을 가장 많이 사용하였고, 그 비중은 COVID-19 상황 이후에 더 높아졌으며, 두 상황 모두 지필 평가 방법 다음으로 실험 관찰평가 방법을 사용한 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 설문 조사 결과와 선행 연구를 분석한 결과로부터 블렌디드 러닝 상황에 적합한 평가방법으로 포트폴리오와 루브릭을 교사와 학생에게 함께 제공하는 평가 방법을 제안한다.
결론 블렌디드 러닝 상황에서 포트폴리오와 루브릭을 함께 제공하면 교사는 채점과 피드백의 부담을 줄일 수 있고 평가의 공정성유지에 도움을 받을 수 있으며, 학생은 학습 목표를 명확히 인지할 수 있고 자기평가와 반성에도 도움을 받을 수 있다. 그리고 포트폴리오와 루브릭을 온라인 플랫폼에서 활용하면 예측하지 못한 상황에서 수업 형태가 갑자기 변경되어도 교사와 학생 간 의사소통을활발하게 이어갈 수 있고, 수업과 평가를 연속적으로 실시할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to analyze the evaluation status of elementary school science classes before and after COVID-19, and to propose an evaluation method that is suitable for blended learning and easy to check the degree of reaching the curriculum achievement standards based on the analysis results and previous studies.
Methods In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the evaluation plan of 13 elementary schools in Seoul was analyzed for 3 years from 2019 to 2021. And to find out more details, a survey was conducted with teachers in charge of the elementary school. In this study, based on the results of the actual condition analysis, previous studies on methods to supplement the problems of paper-based evaluation and laboratory observation book-based evaluation in the blended learning situation were analyzed. Based on the analysis results, it was possible to determine the degree of achievement of the curriculum achievement standards, and an evaluation method suitable for competency-based evaluation was derived.
Results The results of the investigation are as follows. First, the number of science evaluation fields evaluated all four fields in 2019, but was reduced to an average of 1.85 in 2020 and 3.15 in 2021, after the COVID-19 situation. Second, as for the evaluation method, the paper-based evaluation method was the most used both before and after the COVID-19 situation, and the proportion increased after the COVID-19 situation. And in both situations, after paper-based evaluation, laboratory observation book-based evaluation was used as the main method of science class evaluation. In this study, we propose an evaluation method that provides both a portfolio and a rubric to teachers and students as an evaluation method suitable for a blended learning situation based on the results of the analysis of the survey results and previous studies.
Conclusions Providing a portfolio and a rubric together in a blended learning situation can help teachers reduce the burden of grading and feedback and help maintain the fairness of assessment, students can clearly recognize their learning goals, and help self-assessment and reflection can receive. In addition, if portfolios and rubrics are used on an online platform, communication between teachers and students can be actively continued even if the class form is suddenly changed in an unexpected situation, and it has the advantage of continuously conducting classes and evaluations.
