초록

『Kyungsung Ilbo』 newspaper began having <women section> and <children section> in the 1920s. It played a role in highlighting concerns about women and children through the male-dominated newspaper media. In particular, the Women　section of the 1920s helped to awaken women's self-awareness through sections such as <Women and Society> and <Women and Children>. There was a lot of content that emphasizes fulfilling one's role as a member of society.
A distinctive feature of the Children's section of 『Kyungsung Ilbo』 was that it selected and published works submitted by elementary school students, which was unusual for a daily newspaper of the time. It is believed that this was one of the ways that 『Kyungsung Ilbo』 sought to secure a readership for children. In the 1930s, the importance of the economy came to be emphasized after experiencing the Great Depression of 1929. It is argued here that women play an important role in the household economy. In order to raise interest in women's careers, the magazine also published a series called <Walking the Women's Career Line in 1933>. 『Kyungsung Ilbo』 also contains many articles about women's fashion and makeup techniques.　It can be said that this played the role of a comprehensive entertainment venue. Finally, it became clear that the Women's section in 『Kyungsung Ilbo』 was actively used as a propaganda tool to publicize the militarist policy of the <Population Increase Campaign>.
