수업설계에서의 AI 활용에 관한 초중등 교사들의 인식 분석 (Analysis of Elementary and Middle School Teachers’ Perceptions of the Use of AI in Instructional Design)

초록

목적 본 연구는 수업설계에서 AI 활용에 대한 초⋅중등교사들의 인식을 분석하고 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위하여 부산 및 경남 소재 학교에서 초등교사 200명, 중등교사 227명을 대상으로 설문하였으며, 학교급별, 경력에 따른인식 차이를 비교하기 위해 t 검정, ANOVA를 실시하였다. 또한, 개방형 설문과 선다형 문항은 각각 워드 클라우드 분석과 빈도분석을 하였다.
결과 분석을 실시한 결과, 교사들은 수업설계 중에서도 평가 단계에서 AI가 가장 많은 도움을 줄 것으로 인식하고 있었으며, 수업실행 단계에서 도움이 가장 적을 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 특히 AI가 학생들의 학습 동기, 몰입, 정서 상태 등의 심리 관련 변인 분석에는 많은 도움이 되지 않을 것으로 인식하고 있었다. 주로 중등교사들보다 초등교사들이, 저경력 교사들보다, 고경력 교사들이 수업설계에서 AI 활용에 더 많은 도움을 기대하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 수업설계에 AI가 활용된다면 예상되는 장점으로는 ‘개인별 맞춤형 수업’. ‘빅데이터 분석 및 활용’, ‘학습자 분석’, ‘교수 학습 자료 제공’ 등을 언급하였으며 단점으로 ‘AI 과의존’, ‘정서적 자료 분석의어려움’, ‘교사 역할 축소’ 등을 언급하였다. 수업설계에 AI가 도입된다면 ‘학습자 > 교사 > AI’ 순으로 수업의 주도권을 갖는 형태의수업을 운영해보고 싶다고 가장 많이 응답하였고, 미래 수업은 ‘AI > 학습자 > 교사’의 형태가 될 것이라고 응답하였다.
결론 이를 통해, 교사들의 요구에 기초한 AI 기능 설계, AI에 대한 교사들의 잘못된 인식을 수정하기 위한 도움 제공, 교사의 역량및 역할에 대한 연구의 필요성 등을 제언하였다.

영어초록

Objectives This study aims to analyze elementary and middle school teachers’ perceptions of the use of AI in instructional design and draw implications.
Methods For this purpose, a survey was conducted with 200 elementary school teachers and 227 middle school teachers in schools in Busan and Gyeongnam, and t-test and ANOVA were conducted to compare the differences in perceptions according to the level of school and career. In addition, word cloud analysis and frequency analysis were conducted respectively with open-ended questionnaires and multiple-choice questions.
Results The analysis revealed that the teachers recognized that AI would help the most in the evaluation stage of the instructional design and that it would help the least in the class implementation stage. In particular, they recognized that AI would not help much the analysis of psychological variables, such as the students’ learning motivation, commitment, and emotional state. Overall, elementary school teachers expected more help in the use of AI than middle school teachers did, and teachers with more career expected more help from the use of AI than those with less career. ‘personalized learning’, ‘big data analysis and utilization’, ‘learners analysis’, and ‘providing teaching-learning materials’ were mentioned as the expected advantages of the use of AI in instructional design.
‘Over-dependency on AI’, ‘difficulty in analysis of emotional data’, and ‘reducing the role of teachers’ were mentioned as disadvantages. Most responded that they would run classes in which leadership in the class is taken by the following order: “learners, teachers, and AI” if AI is adopted to instructional design, and many responded that the classes of the future would be the form of the following order: “AI, learners, and teachers.” Conclusions Through this, this study proposed the design of AI function based on the teachers’ request, providing help to correct teachers’ misperceptions about AI, and the necessity of research on the teachers’ competencies and roles.
