A Cross－National Study about Entrepreneurship Perception among Korean, Japanese and Chinese University Students

초록

[Purpose]The purpose of this empirical study was to examine perception of entrepreneurship among university students of Korea, Japan and China. This study focused on the three elements being treated as the key variables in entrepreneurship literature; entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial self－efficacy and entrepreneurial motivation.
[Methodology]Data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23 version. Both frequency analysis and factor analysis was conducted to validate the discriminant and internal－consistence of the data. ANOVA was used to test the established hypotheses.
[Findings]Entrepreneurship perception were significantly different among the university students of each country. National culture was observed to play a role in influencing entrepreneurship, as it worked all significantly by country.
[Implications]This paper is the first cross－cultural approach for examining the different perception of entrepreneurship of university students in Korea, Japan and China. Entrepreneurship is associated with diverse notions and beliefs that are affected by the culture and dominant values. Thus, the effect of socio－cultural environment and context is not ignorable.
