초록

본 연구의 목적은 첫째 자녀를 둔 어머니를 대상으로 양육스트레스, 아버지 양육참여, 후속출산계획 자녀수의 전반적 경향을 알아보고, 어머니의 후속출산계획 자녀수에 영향을 미치는 변인들의 영향력을 살펴보는 것이다. 연구 대상은 한국아동패널 5차년도(2012년도) 자료 중 첫째 자녀를 둔 어머니 762명이다. 어머니 대상 조사는 2012년 6월 25일부터 10월 15일 까지 실시되었다. 변인 간의 상관 관계 및 영향력을 분석하기 위해 상관분석, 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실행했다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 양육스트레스와 아버지 양육참여는 부적 상관관계를 나타냈다. 다음으로, 양육스트레스와 후속출산계획 자녀수는 부적 상관을, 아버지 양육참여와 후속출산계획 자녀수는 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 양육스트레스, 아버지 양육참여 모두 후속출산계획 자녀수에 영향을 미쳤고, 아버지의 양육참여가 가장 강력하게 후속출산계획 자녀수에 영향을 미쳤다. 연구 결과를 통해 후속출산계획 자녀수를 높이기 위해서는 아버지도 어머니와 동등한 입장에서 자녀 양육에 참여해야 한다는 아버지 양육참여에 대한 인식 변화와 함께, 아버지 양육참여를 높이고 어머니 양육스트레스는 감소시킬 수 있는 사회적 시스템 마련이 필요함을 확인했다.

영어초록

This study aims to analyze the relations among parenting stress, paternal participation and the number of child in follow-up childbirth plan for mothers with first-born child and the effects of parenting stress and paternal participation on the number of child in follow-up childbirth. The study was conducted on 762 mothers with their first-born child out of the fifth year’s data of the Panel Study on Korean Children. In order to examine the relationship and influence among variables, correlation and stepwise multiple regression analyses were done. The results of the study are as follows. First, looking at the correlation among variables, parenting stress and paternal participation had a negative correlation. Nextly, parenting stress and the number of child in follow-up childbirth plan had a negative correlation, paternal participation and he number of child in follow-up childbirth plan had a positive correlation. Second, parenting stress and paternal participation affect the number of child in follow-up childbirth plan. And a variable predicting the number of child in follow-up childbirth plan most strongly was paternal participation. From the results of this study, in order to increase the number of child in follow-up childbirth plan, Need on a change in the perception of paternal participation that requires fathers to participate in parenting on an equal footing, such as mothers and social system that can increase paternal participation and reduce parenting stress has been confirmed.
