중·고등학생의 창의력과 성취목표 동기와의 관계연구 (The Realtionship between Achievement goal and Creative Thinking of Secondary School Students)

초록

본 연구에서는 중등학생들의 창의력과 성취목표 동기와의 관계를 알아보고 성취동기가 창의력을 얼마나 설명하는가를 확인함으로써 중등학교의 창의성 교육에 있어 성취목표 동기의 중요성을 인식하게 하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 창의적인 사고능력을 측정하기 위하여 TTCT를 사용하였으며 성취목표 동기 검사지를 이용하여 동기유형을 측정하였다. 중학생 262명, 고등학생 254명, 총 516명을 대상으로 spss 프로그램을 이용하여 t-test, correlation, multiple regression을 이용하여 결과를 분석하였다. 창의력 점수는 유창성, 독창성, 전체점수에 있어서 고등학생이 더 높게 나타났으며, 성취목표 동기에서는 수행접근 점수에서 고등학생이 높은 점수를 보여주었으며 다른 동기유형에서는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 창의성과 성취목표 동기유형과의 상관을 살펴보면 중학생의 경우 숙달접근과 유창성이 상관이 있었으며, 고등학생의 경우 숙달접근과 독창성, 수행접근과 유창성, 독창성이 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 중학생은 숙달접근이 창의력 중 유창성을 가장 잘 설명하였고, 고등학생의 경우 유창성은 수행접근이, 독창성은 수행접근과 숙달접근이 잘 설명하는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between creativity and achievement goal motivation theory and the relative predictive power of motivation variables in predicting students' creativity. The instruments used in this study were 'Torrance Test of Creativity Thinking(TTCT)' and '2x2 achievement goal orientation scale(Park·Lee,2005)'. Self-reported response data on these instruments from 616 middle and high school in Seoul were analyzed.
The core of the new conceptualization lies in two dimentions of goal orientation: orienting content(mastery vs performance) and orienting attitude(approch vs avoidance). Four goal orientations of mastery-approach, mastery-avoidance, performance-approach, performance-avoidance were defined according to the new conceptualization.
The results of this study were as follows; 1)there are significant mean difference in the taxonomy of achievement goal motivation and creativity between the middle and high school groups. 2)high school students with high creativity have higher achievement goal motivation(mastery-approach, performance-approach) score significantly. And middle school students with high creativity have higher achievement goal motivation(mastery-approach)score significantly. 3)mastery-approach is the best predictor of creativity among the motivation types in middle school students. And mastery-approach, performance-approach are the best predictor of creativity among the motivation types in high school students.
Creative researchers have generally agreed that motivation is more effective in creative performance than any other reasons. The results of this study clearly supported revised view of achievement goal motivation. Therefore, this study suggests that the education of creativity will be adapted by the sub area type of motivation.
