전공만족도를 매개로 개인 및 대학재정변인이 대학생활 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Personal and University Financial Variables through Major Satisfaction on College Life Satisfaction)

초록

본 연구는 전공만족도를 매개로 개인 및 대학재정변인이 대학생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구 대상은 일반대학교 대학생 9,453명이며, 한국고용정보원이 조사하고 있는 2019년 대졸자 직업이동 경로조사(2018GOMS) 자료를 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석 변인은 독립변인으로 개인특성(입학전형, 취업목표 설정, 전공 재선택시 동일전공 선택)과 대학재정(학생 1인당 교육비, 학생 1인당 교내장학금, 학생 1인당 자료구입비), 매개변인으로 전공만족도, 종속변인으로 대학생활만족도를 선정하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 매개변인인 전공만족도는 종속변인인 대학생활만족도에 정적인 영향을 미친다. 전공만족도가 높을수록 대학생활만족도가 높은 것으로 분석되었으며, 전공만족도가 대학생활만족도에 미치는 영향력은 다른 변인들의 영향력 중 가장 큰 것으로 분석되었다.
둘째, 개인특성은 전공만족도를 매개로 대학생활만족도에 정적인 영향을 미친다. 구체적으로 취업 목표를 설정하고 동일 전공을 재선택하려는 대학생은 매개변인인 전공만족도를 통해서만 대학생활만족도에 정적인 영향을 미친다. 개인특성 중 학생부 종합 및 교과 전형으로 입학한 학생들은 정시전형으로 입학한 학생들보다 전공만족도와 대학생활만족도가 높은 것으로 분석되었다.
셋째, 대학재정 중 학생 1인당 교육비와 자료구입비는 전공만족도를 매개로 대학생활만족도에 정적인 영향을 미친다. 학생 1인당 교육비와 자료구입비가 많을수록 매개변인인 전공만족도와 종속변인인 대학생활만족도가 높아지는 것으로 분석되었다.
넷째, 학생 1인당 교내장학금은 매개변인인 전공만족도에는 영향을 미치지 않았으며, 종속변인인 대학생활만족도에는 직접적으로 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 즉, 학생 1인당 교내장학금이 많을수록 대학생활만족도가 낮아지는 연구 결과가 도출되었다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 전공만족도를 매개로 개인 및 대학재정변인이 대학생활만족도 미치는 영향에 대해서 논의 및 결론을 제시하였다.

영어초록

This study analyzed the effects of personal and university financial variables on college life satisfaction through major satisfaction as a medium. The subjects of this study were 9,453 university students from universities, and data from the 2019 vocational migration path survey (2018GOMS) of college graduates surveyed by the Korea Employment Information Service was used. Analysis variables are independent variables, including individual characteristics admission screening, employment goal setting, same major selection when reselecting major, university finances (the cost of education per student, university scholarship per student, the cost of study material per student), and major satisfaction as mediator variables and college life satisfaction was selected as dependent variable. The analysis results of this study are as follows.
First, the mediating variable, major satisfaction, has a positive effect on the dependent variable, college life satisfaction. It was analyzed that the higher the major satisfaction level, the higher the college life satisfaction. The effect of major satisfaction on college life satisfaction was found to have the greatest influence compared to other variables.
Second, individual characteristics have a positive effect on college life satisfaction through major satisfaction. Specifically, college students who set employment goals and want to reselect the same major have a positive effect on college life satisfaction only through major satisfaction, which is a mediating variable. Among the individual characteristics, it was analyzed that the students who entered through the comprehensive student record screening and subject screening had a more positive effect on major satisfaction and college life satisfaction than the students who entered by Scholastic Ability Test(SAT).
Third, the cost of education per student and the cost of study material per student among university finances have a positive effect on university life satisfaction through major satisfaction as a medium. It was analyzed that the higher the cost of education per student and the cost of study material per student, the higher the major satisfaction as a mediator and college life satisfaction as a dependent variable.
Fourth, it was analyzed that university scholarship per student did not affect major satisfaction, which is a mediating variable, and had a direct negative effect on college life satisfaction. In other words, the results of the study showed that the higher the university scholarship per student, the lower the college life satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, the effects of individual and university financial characteristics on university life satisfaction were discussed and conclusions were presented through major satisfaction as a medium.
