한국판 감정양식 질문지의 신뢰도와 타당도 연구 (Reliability and Validity of an Korean Version of the Affective Style Questionnaire)

초록

본 연구는 조정, 감추기 및 감내라는 세 가지 감정양식을 간편하게 측정하기 위하여 20개 문항으로 이루어진 Hofmann과 Kashdan(2010)의 감정양식 질문지(Affective Style Questionnaire: ASQ)를 우리나라 말로 번역한 다음, 그 요인구조와 신뢰도 및 타당도를 검토하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구 1에서는 389명의 대학생 표본들이 한국판 ASQ에 반응한 자료에 대해 탐색적 요인분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, ‘조정양식’, ‘감추기양식’ 및 ‘수용/개선양식’으로 각각 이름 붙여진 3개의 요인이 산출되었다. 이 요인구조와, 상관 2요인모형, 외국에서 보고된 두 가지의 3요인모형과, 한 가지의 4요인모형의 적합도를 비교 평가하기 위하여, 확인적 요인분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 17개의 문항의 상관 3요인모형에다 오차항들 간의 3개의 상관을 추가한 수정된 상관 3요인모형이 수집된 자료에 가장 적합하였다. 조정양식과 감추기양식 하위척도 두 가지는 내적 일치도가 양호하였으나, 수용/개선양식 하위척도의 내적 일치도는 비교적 낮은 편이었다. 연구 2에서는 437명의 새로운 대학생표본을 대상으로, 연구 1에서 밝혀진 한국판 ASQ의 요인구조가 교차 타당화되는 지를 검토해 보았다. 확인적 요인분석 결과, 여러 대안모형들 중에서 수정된 상관 3요인모형의 적합도가 가장 우수하였다. 조정양식과 감추기양식 하위척도 두 가지는 내적 일치도가 양호하고, 2주간 검사-재검사 신뢰도, 수렴 및 변별타당도와 준거관련 타당도가 수용할만하였다. 증분타당도의 경우, 조정양식 하위척도는 지지되었으나, 감추기양식 하위척도는 미흡한 편이었다. 수용/개선양식 하위척도의 내적 일치도와 검사-재검사 신뢰도는 원판에 비해 약간 낮은 편이었으나, 수렴 및 변별타당도, 준거관련 타당도는 비교적 수용할만하였다. 결론적으로, 이 결과들은 한국판 ASQ가 3요인구조로 이루어져 있으며, 조정양식과 감추기양식 하위척도는 비교적 신뢰롭고 타당하다는 점을 시사한다. 하지만, 수용/개선양식 하위척도의 경우, 추후 한국 문화의 맥락에서 해당 개념을 잘 반영하는 문항들을 더 보충한 후 그 신뢰도와 타당도를 재검토할 필요가 있음을 시사한다.

영어초록

The Affective Style Questionnaire(ASQ) developed by Hofmann and Kashdan(2010), is a 20-item self-report inventory to simply measure three affective style: adjusting, concealing, tolerating. The present study conducted to examine the factor structure, reliability and validity of the Korean version of the ASQ(K-ASQ). In Study 1, We translated ASQ into Korean and then assessed the factor structure of the K-ASQ with exploratory factor analyses on the data of 389 undergraduate samples. As a result, three factor solution was revealed - labeled ‘adjusting’, ‘concealing’, and ‘accepting and improving’. Using confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), we compare a goodness of fit of different factor models: correlated three-factor and correlated 2-factor models, and a correlated 3-factor model with three correlated error-terms, as well as two different 3-factor models and correlated 4-factor model reported in previous studies. The results of CFA indicated that the revised correlated 3-factor model provided the best fit to the first sample. The internal consistency was acceptable for adjusting and concealing subscales. but was relatively lower for accepting and improving subscale. The aim of Study 2 was to cross-validate the factor structure and psychometric properties of the K-ASQ using a new sample of 437 university students. The CFA results indicated that the revised correlated 3-factor model had a better fit than the other models. Adjusting and Concealing subscales showed adequate internal consistency, acceptable test-retest reliability over two-week period, good convergent, discriminant and criterion-related validity. In terms of incremental validity, adjusting subscale was acceptable, whereas concealing subscale was weak. For accepting and improving subscale, internal consistency and test-retest reliability were low, the convergent, discriminant and criterion-related validities were relatively acceptable. In conclusion, these results provide support for the 3 factor structure of the K-ASQ, as well as reliability and validity of adjusting and concealing subscales. However, further study is needed to reexamine the reliability and validity of accepting and improving subscale after adding other items tapping the construct under Asian culture.
