초록

The purpose of this study is to find out the possibility of logistics cost reduction through collaborative logistics activities and to investigate the validity of logistics collaboration for steel exports and imports with China and Japan. To achieve the research purpose, this paper has been made up as follows;Firstly, the status of steel trade volume in Korea, China and Japan and steel logistics flow and problems in Korea have been described. Secondly, the logistics cost of steel exports and imports was deduced by gathering information from the questionnaire method and with secondary data from KITA. Finally, the validity of logistics collaboration for steel exports and imports has been examined through the effects on economies of scale by using FOB-CIF factor analysis.
As a conclusion, this study propose that logistics collaboration such as collaborative transportation is the right way to reduce the logistics cost and therefore steel manufacturers and logistics providers should work together for mutual benefit.
