초·중등학생의 달의 모양, 환경, 위상 개념에 대한 학습발달과정 개발 및 타당성 검증 (The Development and Validation of Learning Progressions for Elementary and Middle School Students’ Moon Shape, Moon Environment, and Moon Phase Concepts)

초록

이 연구에서는 달의 모양, 환경, 위상 개념에 대한 학습발달과정(learning progressions)을 조사하기 위하여, 순위 선다형 문항(ordered multiple-choice items), 선택형, 서술형, 서답형, 서술형 문항이 포함된 평가 문항을 개발하고 이를 초·중등학생들에게 적용하였다. 연구의 과정은 ‘Development(개발) → Assessment(평가) → Analysis(분석) → Amendment(수정)’ 의 단계로 진행되었으며, 2015 개정 교육과정의 성취기준 및 평가기준, 선행 연구를 분석하여 가설적인 학습발달경로인 framework를 구성하고 이를 바탕으로 평가 문항을 제작하였다. 2,007명의 학생들을 대상으로 평가를 실시하였으며, 학년별 문항 반응 분석 및 Rasch 모델의 Winsteps 프로그램을 활용하여 학생들의 이해 수준에 대한 경험적인 증거를 분석하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 개발된 학습발달과정 평가 문항은 달의 모양, 환경, 위상 변화 개념에 대한 학생들의 학습발달과정을 조사하기 위한 검사 도구로서 적절하였다. 문항에 대한 학생들이 얻은 점수에 따라 학생들의 이해 수준을 구분하고, 문항별 난이도와 학생들의 능력을 비교하여 측정하는 Rasch 모델을 적용하여 학생들의 문항 반응 결과를 측정하였다. Wright map을 통하여 학생들의 능력과 문항 난이도를 비교하였고, 학년별 문항 난이도에 대한 DIF(Differential Item Function)을 통해 학년별 학생들의 문항 반응 결과를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 평가 문항들이 학생들의 가설적 발달 경로를 조사하는데 효과적이고, 2015 개정 과학과 교육과정에서 달의 모양, 환경, 위상 변화 개념의 제시 순서를 학생들의 학습발달과정에 부합하는 것으로 나타났다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate elementary and secondary students’ learning progressions about the shape of the moon, the environment of the moon, and the moon phase concepts. The research process consisted of 'Development → Assessment → Analysis → Amendment'. The framework, which is a developmental and hypothetical learning progressions, was constructed were conducted by analyzing the achievement criteria, evaluation criteria of the 2015 revised science curriculum and the previous studies. And the evaluation items, such as ordered multiple-choice items, optional, narrative, answering, and narrative questions, were produced based on this. A total of 2,007 students was participated in the study. Empirical and quantitative evidence on the students' level of understanding were analyzed by using the item response analysis by grade level and the Winsteps program of the Rasch model. As a result of this study, the assessment items developed in this study were appropriate as a test tool for investigating students' learning progressions on the concept of moon shape, environment, and phase change. The students' response level was measured by applying the Rasch model, which measured students' understanding level according to the students' scores and compares the difficulty level of each item and the students' ability. Through the Wright map, students' ability and item difficulty were compared with each other. On the basis of the DIF(Differential Item Function), the results of the students' response were analyzed by grade. The results indicated that the evaluation items were very effective in assessing students' hypothetical learning progressions. In the 2015 revised curriculum, the order of presentation of the concept of moon shape, environment, and phase change was found to be consistent with the students' learning and development process.
