다문화사회에서 요구되는 기독대학생의 역량 관계 연구 (Study on Capability Relationship of Christian University Students Required in Multicultural Society)

초록

본 연구는 다문화사회에서 요구되는 기독대학생들의 역량 관계를 확인하기 위해 기독대학생들의 신앙성숙도와 팀 리더십, 다문화수용성, 세계시민성 간의 구조관계를 밝히고 결과에 따른 교육 필요성과 후속 연구를 제안하였다. 연구를 위해 전국 10개 교회 대학·청년부 소속 개신교 대학생을 설문조사하여 정준상관분석(canonical correlation analysis)과 구조방정식을 활용하였다. 상관분석 및 기초적인 통계 처리 측정도구는 SPSS 19.0을 이용하였고, 구조방정식 분석은 Mplus 4.2를 활용하였다.
연구를 통해 먼저, 기독대학생의 신앙성숙도와 다문화수용성, 팀 리더십 하위 변수군 간 관계가 확인되었다. 성숙한 신앙은 믿음과 행함의 균형에 기인하며 기독대학생들의 팀 리더십 역량 증가와 신앙성숙의 수평적 차원의 연관성이 확인되었다. 하나님에 대한 수직적 차원의 믿음도 중요하지만 우리 주변 이웃들과 수평적 차원의 관계성 역시 성숙한 신앙을 판단하는 주요 기준이 됨을 확인 할 수 있었다. 그 다음으로, 신앙성숙도와 세계시민성, 팀 리더십 간에 정(+)적 상관이 확인 되었으며, 세계시민성과 다문화수용성, 팀 리더십 간의 정(+)적 상관도 확인되었다. 이는 변수들 간의 인과 관계를 완벽히 보증하는 것은 아니지만 상호교육 필요성이 확보되는 결과이다. 연구모형을 통해 신앙성숙도와 다문화수용성의 직접효과만 확인 되지 않을 뿐 신앙이 성숙해지면 세계시민성과 팀 리더십 역시 상승하는 효과를 예측할 수 있었다. 끝으로, 세계시민성은 신앙성숙도와 다문화수용성 간의 관계를 완전매개 하였고 신앙성숙도와 팀 리더십 간은 부분 매개한 것으로 나타났다. 연구모형을 통해 세계시민성은 신앙성숙도와 다문화수용성의 관계를 연결해 주는 가설이 검증되었다.
결론적으로 기독대학생의 신앙성숙도, 팀 리더십, 다문화수용성, 세계시민성 상호관계가 확인되어 다문화사회에 요구되는 역량들 간의 관계가 최종적으로 검증되었다. 따라서 팀 리더십, 다문화수용성과 세계시민성은 영향 관계에 있으므로 기독대학생들의 성숙한 신앙을 도모하기 위해 상호연관 교육 필요성이 요청된다. 뿐만 아니라 기독대학생들의 개인의 영성과 공적·사회적 영성과 실천을 도모하기 위한 노력이 평생교육 차원에서 준비될 필요가 있다.

영어초록

This study began with a question concerned with the capability relationship of Christian university students, which has been required by a multicultural society. It empirically examined the structural relations among faith maturity, team leadership, multicultural acceptance and global citizenship in Christian university students, and suggested the need for education and follow-up studies, based on the findings.
For this study, questionnaires were administered to protestant university students from youth departments in a total of 10 church universities. A total of 600 copies were distributed, and then, 368 copies were analyzed. The canonical correlation analysis and a structured equation were used for resolving the question. SPSS 19.0 was used as a measuring tool for correlation analyses and basic statistical treatment, while Mplus 4.2 was used to analyze structured equation. Concepts and theoretical structures of three capabilities which were determined to be necessary for the multicultural society based on a literature-review were verified around faith maturity of Christian university students: team leadership, multicultural acceptance and global citizenship. The validity of study models was tested through a statistical analysis.
The findings can be summarized: First, the canonical correlation analysis showed that there are relations among sub-variables of team leadership, multicultural acceptance and faith maturity of Christian university students, suggesting that mature faith originated from a balance between faith and works, and the horizontal association between the enhancement of team leadership capability and faith maturity. In addition, it could be found that although vertical faith toward God is important, horizontal relationship with neighbors around us is also a main criterion, based on which mature faith can be judged.
Second, positive correlations among faith maturity, global citizenship and team leadership and among global citizenship, multicultural acceptance and team leadership were verified. This finding does not completely ensure causal relationship among such variables, but confirms the necessity of inter-education. Only direct effects of faith maturity and multicultural acceptance were not verified though study models, but it was predicted that the higher the faith maturity, the stronger the global citizenship and the team leadership. Third, global citizenship fully mediated the relationship between faith maturity and multicultural acceptance and partially mediated that between faith maturity and team leadership. This study verified the hypothesis that global citizenship connects faith maturity and multicultural acceptance.
In conclusion, the relationship among capabilities required in a multicultural society was ultimately verified, since it was found that there are correlations among faith maturity, team leadership, multicultural acceptance and global citizenship in Christian university students. The correlation education is, therefore, required for Christian university students to achieve mature faith, as there are effect relationship among team leadership, multicultural acceptance and global citizenship. Moreover, it is necessary to make efforts to promote their individual and public/social spirituality and practice, through life-long education. In this context, this study has an implication, in that it verified the relationship of their capabilities necessary for a multicultural society, and therefore, it also provided the grounds of educations and training and the need of a follow-up study.
