다문화가족의 고부갈등에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The Factors Affecting Conflicts between Mother-in-laws and Daughter-in-laws in Multi-cultural Family)

초록

본 연구는 다문화가족 고부갈등 요인을 분석하기 위해 대구광역시와 경상북도 시･군에 거주하는 결혼이주여성 며느리와 한국인 시어머니를 대상으로 설문조사와 심층면접을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고부갈등에 영향을 미치는 인구사회학적인 변인은 결혼이주여성인 며느리의 출신국가로 나타났다. 출신국가가 중국인 경우 베트남과 필리핀인 경우보다 갈등의 정도가 낮게 나타났다. 둘째, 결혼이주여성인 며느리(3.55)의 문화적응태도가 시어머니(3.20) 보다 높게 나타났다. 며느리는 다문화수용태도에서, 시어머니는 다문화수용태도와 다문화교육태도에서 고부갈등에 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 문화적응태도에 있어서는 시어머니와 며느리는 상이한 영역에서 고부갈등에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 가족주의 의식은 다문화가족 고부갈등에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이와같이 다문화가족의 고부 각자는 상이한 요인이 갈등에 영향을 미치므로, 고부관계 향상을 위해 고부각자의 상호문화이해와 문화적응력 강화를 위한 인식개선 및 교육이 요구된다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate conflicts between mother-in-laws and daughters-in-laws in multi-cultural family. Unlike other studies, which usually are focused on the relationship between the family at the micro level, this study focuses on the more broader level of the family system.
The subjects in this study were korean mother-in-laws and foreigner daughter-in-laws from multi-cultural families in the regions of Daegu and Gyeongbuk province. This included 310 daughter-in-laws and 157 mothers-in-laws. A structured survey was conducted to gather data. The data was analyzed with frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, F-test, and correlation analysis. In order to examine the affecting factors on the conflict within multi-cultural families, multiple regression were employed. In order to complement quantitative methods, qualitative methods were conducted. The data was collected through in-depth interview and observation. Participants of this study included 5 foreigner daughter-in-laws and 7 korean mother-in-laws.
The daughter-in-law's culture adaptation attitude index is higrher than the mother-in-law's. The daughter-in-law's conflict were affected by her country of origin and multi-culture acceptance attitude, her relationship to her in laws.
The mother-in-law's conflict were affected by multi-cultural education attitude and multi-culture acceptance attitude, relation of her and his to the in laws. But patriarchal consciousness doesn’t affected Conflicts between Mother- in-laws and Daughter-in-laws in Multi-cultural Family In conclusion, different factors affected the conflict within the multi-cultural families. In order to reduce conflict within the multi-cultural families, there should be an understanding of the immigrant women's culture and their family system. The establishment of individualized instructional programs that create multiculturalism atmosphere and reestablishment of gender equality role system is recommended. Along with customized study methods, there needs to be a more variety of subjects from various ethnic backgrounds. Finally, the measurement for this study was not customized to the Korean culture, rather it was done through the utilization of foreign study methods. For further study, the measurement should be customized to fit the Korean culture.
