When the new products are developed or improvements are needed, an innovative simulation is used to enhance
the effectiveness of the production process. But when the types of the product are various and the production
process is long, the simulation becomes more complex and tedious work. The production of the diesel
engine nozzle requires long processing sequences. This is the study on the design of the simulator for the diesel
engine nozzle production to solve such multi product and multi process production system problem.
Promodel is used as an implementing simulation language. Excel spread sheets are used to define the work sequences
and other production process information such as work time, buffer type, batch amount, resource operators
and grouping. This technique can reduce the effort of the simulator development and the possibility of
error. As an application of the simulator, a sample scheduling problem is explained and the some alternative results
are also included.
