청소년지도자의 다문화경험, 다문화태도, 공감능력, 다문화행동의도의 구조적 관계와 직접‧매개효과 분석 (Analysis of the structural relationship, direct and mediating effects between the multicultural experience, multicultural attitudes, empathic ability and multicultural behavior intention of youth lead)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년지도자의 다문화행동의도에 영향을 미치는 다문화경험, 다문화태도, 공감능력의 구조적 관계와 구조적 관계에서 나타나는 주요변인의 직접효과와 매개효과를 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 구조적 관계 모형의 적합성(가설 1), 다문화경험가 다문화태도 및 다문화행동의도에 미치는 직접효과(가설 2, 3), 다문화태도의 다문화행동의도에 대한 직접효과(가설 4), 다문화경험과 다문화태도 및 다문화행동의도 사이에서 공감능력의 매개효과(가설 5, 6), 다문화경험과 다문화행동의도 간 다문화태도의 매개효과(가설 7), 공감능력과 다문화태도의 매개효과 차이(가설 8)와 같은 8개의 가설을 설정하였다. 설문지를 측정도구로 청소년시설에 근무하는 청소년지도자를 임의표집과 눈덩이표집을 혼합하여 선정하여 190명의 응답자료를 수집하였다. 6명의 이상치를 제외한 184명의 결과치를 SPSS 23.0과 AMOS 20.0을 통해 기술통계량, 측정모델, 연구모델을 분석하여 가설을 검증하였다. 검증 결과 가설 3은 기각되었고 나머지 가설은 모두 채택되었다. 연구 결과는 다문화경험을 독립변수, 다문화태도와 공감능력을 매개변수로 하여 청소년지도자의 다문화행동의도를 증진시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 세부적으로는 다문화경험 또는 다문화태도를 통해 다문화행동의도를 증진시킬 수 있고, 다문화경험을 통해 다문화행동의도를 증진시키고자 할 때 공감능력 및 다문화태도가 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 다문화태도를 증진시키고자 할 때 공감능력도 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 아울러 공감능력 및 다문화태도의 매개효과 중 다문화태도의 효과가 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이런 연구 결과는 청소년지도자의 다문화행동의도를 증진시키고자 하는 교육과 정책에 시사하는 바가 크다. 향후 청소년지도자의 다문화역량 관련 정책과 교육에서 적극 활용될 필요가 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural relationship, direct and mediating effects between multicultural experience, multicultural attitude, empathic ability and multicultural behavior intention of youth leaders. To this end, eight hypotheses were set such as the suitability of the structural relationship model(H.1), the direct effects of multicultural experience toward multicultural attitude and multicultural behavior intention(H.2,3), the direct effects of multicultural attitude toward multicultural behavior(H.4), mediating effects of empathic ability between multicultural experience and multicultural attitude or multicultural behavior intention(H.5,6), the mediating effect of multicultural attitude between multicultural experience and multicultural behavioral intention(H.7), the difference between mediating effects of empathic ability and multicultural attitude(H.8). The questionnaire was used as a measuring tool. Survey subjects were selected from youth leaders working at youth facilities. 190 response data were collected and 184 data except 6 outliers were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0 to accept descriptive statistics, and to confirm the measurement model, and structural model. The hypotheses were verified through the confirmed structural model. As a final result, H.3 was rejected and all others were adopted. As a result of the study, it was found that the multicultural behavior intention can be enhanced by multicultural experience as an independent variable, multicultural attitude and empathic ability as parameters. Specifically, multicultural experience or multicultural attitude can enhance multicultural behavior intention, and multicultural experience shows that there is mediating effects of empathy and multicultural attitudes when trying to promote multicultural behavior intention. When trying to improve multicultural attitude, empathic ability also appeared to have a mediating effect. In addition, among the mediating effects of empathic ability and multicultural attitude, the effect of multicultural attitude was greater. The results of this study have great implications for education and policies aimed at promoting the multicultural behavior intention of youth leaders. In the future, it will need to be actively used in policies and education related to multicultural competency of youth leaders.
