뉴노멀 시대 사회 환경과 청소년 시 (Social environment and Adolescent Poetry in the New Normal Era)

초록

이 연구는 청소년 시가 적극적으로 활용하고 있는 오늘날 청소년의 고유한 언어 발화 양상을 정리함으로써 청소년들이 급변하는 뉴노멀 시대의 사회 환경에 노출되면서 느끼는 여러 감정을 어떻게 언어로써 해소하는지 살펴보고자 하였다.‘뉴노멀’이란 “이전에 익숙하지 않거나 비정상적이었던 상황이 표준이 되거나 일상화된 것”을 말한다. 뉴노멀 시대는 모든 것이 불확실하고 디지털 기술의 발달로 인간과의 소통이 비대면으로 정착되는 변화를 가져왔다. '청소년 시'는 뉴노멀 시대의 불확실성과 비대면 소통 환경에 노출된 청소년의 언어를 담고 있다. 청소년 언어는 청소년의 정체성을 확고히 하는 언어문화적 실천체계로 청소년의 현실을 그대로 반영하며 그 삶과 사고를 표출하는 문학적 언어로 자리한다. 청소년 시는 청소년 언어를 적극적으로 시어로 활용하고 있으며, 동시에서 청소년의 삶이 반영된 다양한 언어를 담고자 하는 시도가 계속되고 있다. 첫째, 반복된 의문형 어미의 사용과 대화체 방식을 통해서 청소년 언어의 ‘집단적 소란 현상’과 영상 시대의 쌍방향 소통을 보여주기도 한다. 또한 의문형과 대화 구조는 어른들과의 소통 단절 현상을 재현하는 동시에 소통에 대한 갈망을 내포하는 언어를 사용하고 있다. 둘째, 직접적으로 소통하기 어려운 뉴노멀 시대에 청소년 시에서 ‘각주’는 시인과 화자, 화자와 독자의 상호작용을 돕는다. 청소년 시의 각주는 어른과 청소년이 모르는 서로의 언어를 이해하고자 하는 연결고리 역할을 하고 있다. 셋째, 청소년 시는 청소년 은어를 적극적으로 활용함으로써 비대면 소통에서 또래들만의 소통을 이루어내는 청소년 독자의 일상 속 공감을 이끌어내고자 하엿다. 시 자체가 또 다른 청소년 은어로 작용하도록 언어를 선택하여 청소년 문화를 언어적으로 내면화하고자 하였다. 넷째, 비속어와 문장기호의 활용을 통해 음성적 언어를 선호하면서도 SNS 문자 메시지에 익숙한 청소년 언어의 이중성과 감정의 직설적 표현을 재현하였고, 그 결과 감정을 이미지화하는 효과를 가져왔다.
청소년 시는 청소년의 현재를 포착하고 청소년의 삶을 기록하는 대중시의 면모를 보이는 현재 위상과 문학적 가치를 찾은 것에 의의가 있다. 오늘날 독자와 멀어진 시를 시 그 자체로 읽고 감상하도록 하는 청소년 시의 언어 전략은 점차 청소년 시 감상 교육에서도 연계 효과를 얻을 수 있을 것이다. 이로써 독자가 사라지는 오늘날의 시에 뉴노멀 시대 새로운 독자를 이끌어오는 하나의 방안이 될 것이다.

영어초록

This study attempted to examine how youth use language to resolve the various emotions they feel as they are exposed to the rapidly changing social environment of the new normal era by organizing the unique linguistic speech patterns of today's youth, which are actively utilized in youth poetry. We wanted to confirm that it was an element. ‘New normal’ refers to “a situation in which a previously unfamiliar or abnormal situation has become standard or routine.” In the New Normal era, everything is uncertain, and the development of digital technology has brought about a change in which communication with humans has become established as non-face-to-face. 'Adolescent Poetry' contains the language of youth exposed to the uncertainty and non-face-to-face communication environment of the new normal era. Youth language is a linguistic and cultural practice system that solidifies the identity of youth and serves as a literary language that reflects the reality of youth and expresses their lives and thoughts. Adolescent Poetry is actively using youth language as a poetic language, and attempts to contain a variety of languages that reflect the lives of youth are continuing. First, through the repeated use of interrogative endings and conversational style, it shows the ‘collective disturbance phenomenon’ of youth language and the two-way communication in the video era. In addition, the interrogative and conversational structures reproduce the phenomenon of communication breakdown with adults while using language that connotes a desire for communication. Second, in the new normal era where direct communication is difficult, ‘footnotes’ in Adolescent Poetry help the interaction between poet and speaker, and speaker and reader. Footnotes in Adolescent Poetry serve as a link between adults and youth to understand each other's unfamiliar languages. Third, by actively using youth slang, Adolescent Poetry seeks to elicit empathy in the daily lives of youth readers, who communicate only with peers in non-face-to-face communication. The language was chosen so that the poem itself acts as another youth slang, attempting to internalize youth culture linguistically. Fourth, through the use of slang and punctuation marks, the duality of youth language and direct expression of emotions, which are familiar with SNS text messages while preferring vocal language, was reproduced, resulting in the effect of imaging emotions.
Adolescent Poetry is significant in that it has found the current status and literary value of capturing the present of youth and showing aspects of popular poetry that records the lives of youth. The language strategy of Adolescent Poetry that allows today's readers to read and appreciate poems that are distant from them as poems themselves will gradually have a linking effect in Adolescent Poetry appreciation education. This will be a way to bring in new readers in the new normal era in today's poetry where readers are disappearing.
