뇌 발달 연구모임을 통한 영아반 교사들의 교수지식 구성과정 (Constructing the Knowledge for Toddler; Class Teachers Through Brain Development Study-Group)

본 연구는 영아반 교사들이 뇌 발달 연구모임을 통해 영아의 뇌 발달에 적합한 교수지식을 어떻게 구성해 나가는지 질적으로 분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 뇌 발달 연구모임은 모임의 참여에 동의한 행복한 어린이집의 영아반 교사 6명과 촉진자 및 운영자로 참여한 본 연구자 1명으로 구성되었으며, 2007년 1월부터 6월까지 6개월간 12차례의 모임이 이루어졌다. 영아반 교사들이 뇌 발달 연구모임을 통해 뇌 발달 지식을 교수지식으로 어떻게 구성해나가는지 알아보기 위해 모임이 운영되는 기간 동안 협의 자료, 교사 면담 자료, 연구자의 약기, 교사의 기록, 기타 관련 자료를 수집하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 뇌 발달 연구모임을 통해 영아반 교사들은 먼저 뇌와 뇌 발달 지식에 관심을 갖고, 자신의 경험과 교사로서의 경험과 연결시켜 받아들였다. 그런 다음 영아반 교사로서 지금-현재의 위치에서 뇌 발달 지식을 영아를 교육하기 위한 실질적인 교수지식으로 구체화 하였다. 또한 영아의 뇌 발달에 적합한 교육의 계속적인 실천을 위한 토대를 구축하였다.

The purpose of this study is to make a qualitative analysis of the process toward the constructing knowledge for teaching of infant/toddler class teachers by the support of Brain Development Study Group. The participants consisted of 6 teachers who were in charge of infants or toddlers class in H child care center and 1 investigator functioned as both facilitator and leader. All of them were members of Brain Development Study Group, which has been attended for 6 months from January 12 to June 5 in 2007. This period of 6 months was constituted to collecting data such as materials of agenda, interview recording from the teachers, the notes by the investigator and several items concerned. The gathered data were divided into relevant items, analyzed and represented to address their significance pursued in this study. The results show these: Brain Development Study Group contributed to the infant/toddler class teachers' raising the appropriate knowledge of the young learners' brain development. The investigator as a facilitator started with the discussion of what the brain is, for what it works and what capabilities it has with the teachers of infants/toddlers. This discussion made the teachers motivated to discover the relations between brain and behaviors and they learned that what a person is means how his brain is. With this in mind, the participants, or, the teachers of this Brain Development Study Group reflect the knowledge of brain development onto their educational experience, identifying the appropriate education of brain development. By doing this, they were involved in making the implementation and adoption of this education practiced properly. Lastly, the teachers plan and design their own curriculum of the brain development education on the basis of their knowledge acquired through the Study Group and the developmental state of their infants and toddlers.
