일부 농어촌지역 대학생의 전공만족도에 관한 조사연구 (A Survey Study on the Major Satisfaction of Undergraduates from Rural Areas)

초록

본 연구는 치위생(학)과 학생들의 전공 관련 특성을 조사하여 학생들의 전공만족도를 높이고, 미래 직업인 치과위생사에 대한 자긍심을 증가시키기 위한 기초자료를 수집하고자 농어촌 지역에 소재한 대학교의 재학생을 대상으로 자기기입식 설문을 실시하였고, 총 1,392부의 설문지를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 20.0 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 교차분석, 독립표본 t-test, 일원분산분석과 Duncan test의 사후검증을 실시하였고, 회귀분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다.
진학만족도에서 4년제는 높음이, 3년제는 보통이 높았고, 학년에서 1학년과 4학년은 높음이, 2학년과 3학년은 보통이 높게 나타났다. 진학동기는 학제와 학년 모두 높은 취업이 가장 높았고, 진학경로는 학제와 학년 모두 부모/형제/친지 권유가 가장 높았다. 학제에 따른 전공만족도 차이는 4년제가 3년제보다 모두 높았고, 개인적 차원의 만족도는 4학년과 1학년은 2학년보다 높았고, 1학년은 3학년보다 높았으며, 사회적 차원의 만족도는 4학년과 1학년이 3학년보다 높았고, 1학년이 2학년보다 높았다. 진학만족도는 개인적 차원의 만족도와 사회적 차원의 만족도 모두 높음과 보통이 낮음보다 높았고, 높음은 보통보다 높았다. 진학동기는 개인적 차원의 만족도에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 본인적성과 직업전문성은 기타와 직업안정성보다 높았고, 본인적성과 직업안정성은 높은 취업과 직업전문성보다 높았다. 진학경로는 개인적 차원의 만족도에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고, 본인의지가 부모/형제/친지 권유보다 높게 나타났다.
이상의 결과 전공학과에 대한 만족도와 치과위생사 직업에 대한 긍지를 증가시키기기 위해서는 다양한 매체를 통한 적극적인 홍보활동과 다양한 교육과정 및 프로그램의 개발 등의 방안모색이 필요하며, 이를 위한 기초자료 수집에 활용하고자 한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to improve the major satisfaction of students from the dental hygiene department, and increase their pride as a dental hygienist. To collect basic data, a self-reported questionnaire was carried out targeting undergraduates at a university located in the rural area. In total, 1,392 copies of the questionnaire were analyzed. Based on the collected materials, regression analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, cross tabulation, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and post test in Duncan test by using SPSS 20.0 statistical program. The results are as follows.
In terms of enrollment satisfaction, the most frequent answer for the 4-year system was 'high' and in the 3-year system 'moderate'. Also, in terms of school year, freshman and senior answered 'high' while for sophomore and junior the most frequent answer was 'moderate'.
The entrance motivation was highest in employment for both school system and school year. The entrance path was highest in parents, brothers & sisters and relatives for both school system and school year. The difference in major satisfaction in terms of school system was all higher in the 4-year system compared to the 3-year system. In terms of satisfaction in individual dimension, the satisfaction of senior and freshman was higher than sophomore, and freshman higher than junior. As for the satisfaction in terms of social dimension, senior and freshman were higher than junior, and freshman higher than sophomore. As for the enrollment satisfaction, the satisfaction in individual and social dimension 'high' was the most frequent answer followed by moderate and low. High was higher than moderate. The entrance motivation was indicated to have a statistically significant difference in the satisfaction of individual dimension. Own aptitude and occupational profession were both higher than occupational stability. Own aptitude and occupational stability were higher than high employment and occupational profession. The entrance path showed a statistically significant difference in the satisfaction of individual dimension. Own intention was indicated to be higher than the recommendation of parents, brothers & sisters, and relatives.
In short, a plan such as the development in diverse curriculums and programs and a positive promotion activity through various media is needed in order to raise the satisfaction in major and a pride as a dental hygienist. This goal can be achieved by using the collected basic data of this study.
