부모로 인한 성노출 피해아동의 모래놀이치료 사례연구 (A Study of Sand Play Therapy for Children exposed to the Sex by their Parents-focusing on self-esteem and sociality)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 부모로 인한 성노출 피해아동을 대상으로 실시한 모래놀이치료가 아동의 자아존중감과, 사회성에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것이었다. 연구대상은 부모로 인해 성노출 피해를 경험했고 현재 부모로부터 분리되어 아동복지시설에 거주하고 있는 아동 2명이었다. 2012년 3월부터 2012년 12월까지 25회기에 걸쳐, 주1회 회당 60분간 실시한 모래놀이치료에 대해 분석하였으며, 연구 결과의 검증을 위하여 매회기별 아동의 언어적, 행동적 특징을 관찰하여 기록된 일지와, 사전 사후 자아존중감 척도(Self Esteem Scale: SES) 및 사회성 척도를 비교 분석하였다. 자료는 SPSS 22.0 프로그램을 활용하여 분석하였다. 분석결과 모래놀이치료를 하기 전과 후 자아존중감 검사와 사회성 검사를 한 결과 자아존중감은 유의미한 결과가 나타나지는 않았지만 실험전보다 실험후의 평균의 증가를 보였고, 모래놀이치료 회기별 행동 관찰에서도 자아존중감의 향상을 확인 할 수 있었으며, 사회성 검사는 통계적인 유의미한 결과가 나타내었다. 이는 부모로 인한 성노출 피해아동의 모래놀이치료과정에서 치료자와 상호작용을 통해 자아존중감이 향상되었고, 자신에 대한 인정과 수용이 타인에 대한 인정으로 이어지면서 사회성도 증진된 것으로 볼 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 부모에 의한 성노출 피해로 대인관계의 어려움을 갖고 있는 아동을 대상으로 모래놀이치료를 실시하여 자아존중감 향상과 사회성 발달을 도와 건강한 대인관계를 형성할 수 있도록 돕는데 목적이 있으며, 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 모래놀이치료를 활용하여 직접적 성폭력 혹은 물리적 성학대 아동을 대상으로 하는 선행 연구들에서 벗어나, 피해를 규명하거나 피해정도를 가늠하기 어려운 성노출 아동을 대상으로 연구가 이루어졌다는 점과 모래놀이 활동의 활용범위를 넓히고 그 가능성을 확인하였다는 것에 시사하는 바가 크다고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

This study targeted children living in children’s welfare facilities who were affected by sexual exposure of their parents. It examined cases of sand play therapy offered to 2 children who have difficulty in interpersonal relationship due to low self-esteem and sociality, and analyzed ‘the effect of sand play therapy for children affected by sexual exposure of their parents on their self-esteem and sociality’. It analyzed sand play therapy that was offered for 25 sessions from March to December 2012, once a week, for 60 minutes per session, and to verify the research result, it compared the log that was recorded by observing children’s linguistic and behavioral characteristics in each session, and self-esteem scale(SES) and sociality scale before and after therapy were compared and analyzed. The data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0. As a result of analyzing the self-esteem test and sociality test before and after sand play therapy, self-esteem did not show significant difference but the average after the experiment showed an increase compared to before the experiment. Behavior observation of each session revealed improvement in self-esteem, and sociality test showed statistically significant results. This can be interpreted that during the process of sand play therapy, the children affected by the sexual exposure of their parents showed improvement in their self-esteem through the interaction with their therapist, and the acknowledgement and acceptance of themselves led to the acknowledgement of others, eventually increasing their sociality. This study targeted children who have trouble in interpersonal relationship due to the sexual exposure of their parents and aimed to help improve their self-esteem and sociality through sand play therapy so that they can form healthy interpersonal relationship. The research result seen from above has a great significance in that it took a different approach from the previous studies that used sand play therapy for children who suffered from direct sexual assault or physical sexual abuse. It focused on children affected by sexual exposure, whose damage is hard to clarify or measure. It is also significant in that it expanded the use of sand play therapy and proved its effectiveness.
