초록

남송의 주희 이후 명대의 양렴에 이르기까지, 이른바 도학의 계보와 연원을 밝힌 책으로 주목해야 할 저술은 주희의 『이락연원록』과 양렴의 『이락연원록신증』, 사탁의 『이락연원속록』, 이유무의 『황조도학명신언행록』, 양렴의 『황명이학명신언행록』을 꼽을 수 있다. 이 중 양렴의 저작들은 비록 남송과 원대가 빠지긴 했지만 각각 송대와 명대의 도학 계보를 대표하는 편찬서로서, 시대적 연속성을 가지고 도학의 연원을 정리했다는 의미를 갖는다.
조선에 수입된 연원록･언행록들은 북송 이래 명대 전반에 이르기까지 이학의 계보를 제시하고, 해당 학인들의 학문, 정치적 행적을 일목요연하게 정리하고 있다. 중국의 연원록･언행록을 통해 송대에서 명대 전반에 이르는 다양한 학문, 사상을 접해간 조선 학계는 주자학의 정통을 중시하고 그 토대를 공고히 하는 한편 다양한 학술 풍토를 소화해낸 자생력을 바탕으로 학문의 지평을 넓히고 다변화하려는 노력을 끊임없이 경주해 갔다. 16세기 이황이 집록한 『송계원명이학통록』과 17세기 박세채가 집록 저술한 『이락연원속록』･『이학통록보집』은 그 대표적 결과물이었다.

영어초록

Since Zhu Xi (朱熹) of the Southern Song Dynasty through the period of Yang Lian (楊廉, 1456-1527) of the Ming Dynasty, the books that are significant for revealing the genealogy and origin of moral philosophy are Zhu Xi’s Irak Yeonweonrok(『伊洛淵源錄』), Yang Lian’s Irak Yeonweonrok sinjeung(『伊洛淵源錄新增』), Duo Xie’s (謝鐸, 1435-1510) Irak Yeonweon Sokrok (『伊洛淵源續錄』), Li Youwu’s (李幼武) Huangchao Dohak Myeongsin Eonhaengrok(『皇朝道學名臣言行錄』), and Yang Lian’s Hwangmyung lihak Myeongsin Eonhaengrok(『皇明理學名臣言行錄』). Among these books, the two books written by Yang Lian are compilations that are representative of the genealogy of moral philosophy of the Song Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty respectively, although they do not include the Southern Song Dynasty and the Yuan Dynasty. As representative compilations of moral philosophy of these time periods, they are significant for arranging the origins of moral philosophy based on periodical continuity.
The source records (yŏnwŏnnok) and spoken records (ŏnhaengnok) that were imported in Chosŏn provide a genealogy of sciences (理學, Lihak) from the Northern Song Dynasty through the first half of the Ming Dynasty, and they organize in a clear and easily accessible manner the scholarship and political traces of relevant scholars. Through the source records and spoken records of China, Chosŏn scholars became exposed to various scholarship and ideologies from the Song Dynasty through the first half of Ming Dynasty. Thus, Chosŏn scholars emphasized the legitimacy of neo-Confucianism based on the thoughts of Zhu Xi and strengthened the foundation of neo- Confucianism, while at the same time they attempted to expand the prospect of scholarship and to diversify based on the self-perpetuating abilities that adapted a variety of scholarly characteristics. The most representative outcomes of such efforts are Songgyewonmyeong lihaktongrok(『宋季元明理學通錄』) compiled by Yi Hwang in the sixteenth century and Irak Yeonweonrok Sinjeung(『伊洛淵源錄新增』), lihaktongrok Bogib(『理學通錄補集』) compiled and written by Pak Se-ch’e in the seventeenth century.
