가족돌봄관계 연구경향 분석 및 제언 : 기혼 성인자녀와 노부모간 관계를 중심으로 (Analytic Review on the Family Care Relations Researchs ＆ Propositions : Focused on the Relaionship between the Aged Parents and their Adult Married Children in Korea)

초록

이 글은 기혼의 자녀와 노부모간 관계에 대한 선행 논의들이 노부모 돌봄의 실재에 접근하는 데 있어 어떤 함의를 갖는지 분석해 보았다. 규범 중심의 담론, 의식과 행동의 이분법적 시각에서 벗어나고자 가족제도와 규범, 노인돌봄정책, 미시적 가족관계 논의들을 가족돌봄관계에 대한 연구범위로 설정하고, 그 연구결과들이 가족돌봄실천의 관계적 속성에 어떠한 함의를 제공하는지를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 정치적 통치 수단으로 이데올로기화된 효규범은 개인의 의식 속에서 현실적 구속력은 약한 추상적 가치로 부유하고 있다. 과도하게 신비화되고 제도화된 형태를 띠게 된 효규범은 현실의 돌봄관계를 애정이나 애착보다는 규범적 의무감을 통해 강제하고 있다. 가족관계에 대한 심성적, 도덕적 기반의 변화를 설명해 줄 수 있는 언어는 제공하지 않은 채 이루어진 가족제도 및 상속제도의 변화는 가족돌봄실천을 다시금 변화된 제도적 교환관계의 논리를 중심으로 그 관계적 속성을 전개하게 한다. 노인돌봄정책의 완고한 가족책임주의 가정은 가족돌봄실천을 대안부재의 상황 속에 놓이게 하며, 돌봄책임의 분담을 둘러싼 가족내 갈등과 돌봄책임의 가족내 악순환으로 재생산한다. 미시적 가족관계에 대한 세대관계의 구조적 다층성과 결합형태의 다양성에 대한 논의, 딸의 돌봄에 대한 논의들은 이러한 대안 부재의 상황 속에서 가족돌봄실천의 다양하고 이질적인 협상전략 구사를 반영하는 것으로 해석될 수 있다. 이러한 선행연구로부터 추론된 함의에 기반하여, 노부모 돌봄의 도덕적 의무감의 실제 내용을 구체적인 개인의 목소리를 통해 밝혀야 할 필요성을 제기하였다. 가족돌봄실천의 상황적 맥락과 관계적 속성 분석에는 가족돌봄당사자들의 다양한 목소리가 반영되어야 하며, 이를 위한 자료생산방법과 연구방법의 모색이 필요함을 제기하였다. 이들의 목소리에 결합되어 있는 사회구조적 조건으로서 제도, 규범, 정책의 구속력에 귀기울임으로써 돌봄담론의 가족중심성을 극복하고, 가족의 변화를 반영할 수 있도록 정책의 가족책임주의가정에 대한 재고를 요구하였다.

영어초록

I'm interested on approaching the reality of caring the aged parents by their adult married children, in the way of reviewing the studies on the relations between them and arrangeing their implications. I'm intended to go out of the discourse focued on the norm and the dichotomy between consciousness and behavior, so I include the researchs on the family institutions, filial piety norm, the elderly care policy and the family relations on the micro level in my review list. I depend on the concept "caring relations" defined by Held(2006). And then I suggested their implications on the relational properties of family care practices(Morgan, 1999). The Results are as follows. First, the filial piety norm is floating in the individual's consiousness as a abstract value having a weak decision making power. Having a over-mystified and institutionalized normal form, the filial piety reduced the caring relations to the obligation instead of affectionate or attachment. Without giving a language for the change of their moral and sentimental base about the family relationship, we faced chages of the institution of family and inheritance which returned the family care practices into the logic of relationship of institutional exchange. The stick-necked familialism of the elderly care policy drives the family care practices into the corner of the lack of alternatives and reproduces family conflict on the sharing and vicious circle of caring responsibility in the family members. Discourses on the multi-layered structure and diversity of the generational relationship and the care of daughters can be interpreted as the differentiation of the families' negotiation strategy responding to the absence of alternatives. On these implications reasoned from the review, I make propositions for future study. I suggest to listen to the voice of individuals in order to make clear the content of their moral obligation. To analysis the context and relational attributes of the family care practice, we need the setting of the research subject, for example, including one family's relevant members and a new research method to reveal the meaning behind their logics. Paying attention to the social structural conditions as institution, the social norm and the social policy associated with the individual's voice, we have to overcome the familialism of discourse on care and demand the rethinking the proposition of familialism of the elderly care policy to reflect the chage of families.
