유럽의 라티노 - 라틴킹즈를 중심으로 살펴본 초국가적 연대의 가능성 (Latinos in Europe: A Study on the Possibility of Transnational Solidarity in Latin Kings' Nation)

초록

When we mention “Latino”, it is generally to refer to the ones in the US, but also this term is used for the descendents of the Latin Americans that live in Europe and especially in Spain. As a result of the recent economic crisis many Latin Americans are returning to their home countries, but in the long run Spain will always be the main gate for them to enter Europe because of the linguistic, historical and cultural reasons that make this land more suitable place for them to emigrate. Our specific interest will be put on the youth band called Latin Kings that has more than 6 decades of history and a special ways of organizing their alternative community called ‘nation’. Not like other youth gangs, this group has very peculiar ways of differentiating it from others which is based on the philosophy of sharing and caring in a society where they were and still are excluded and stigmatized. Through this process we will consider the possibility of transnational and decolonial solidarity of latinos that transcends the delimitation of the State-nation in a neoliberal economic system.
