청소년 정서행동문제의 변화 양상과 가정 및 학교 영향 요인 검증: 2006년과 2015년 코호트의 비교 (Identifying the Trajectory of Adolescents’ Emotional and Behavioral Problems and the Impact of Family-and School-related Factors: A Comparison of the 2006 and 2015 Cohorts)

초록

본 연구는 초‧중‧고등학교 시기 청소년의 정서행동문제(우울‧불안, 주의집중문제, 위축, 공격성) 변화 양상을 탐색하고 가정환경(빈곤, 부모 우울증 여부) 및 학교생활(심리사회적 학교환경, 학교폭력 피해경험, 성적, 학업 스트레스) 요인이 미치는 영향을 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 세대 간 정서행동문제 변화 양상이 서로 다르게 나타나는지 탐색하기 위하여, 한국보건사회연구원의 한국복지패널 아동부가조사 자료 중 1990년대생으로 구성된 2006년 코호트(1, 4, 7차)와 2000년대생으로 구성된 2015년 코호트(10, 13, 16차) 간 다집단 잠재성장모형을 적용하였다. 분석의 결과, 2006년 코호트와 2015년 코호트 공통적으로 우울·불안은 유의한 변화가 나타나지 않은 반면, 공격성은 유의하게 감소하는 것으로 나타났으나, 2015년 코호트의 경우 주의집중문제와 위축 문제가 유의하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가정환경 및 학교생활 요인이 정서행동문제에 미치는 영향을 탐색한 결과는 다음과 같다. 2006년, 2015년 코호트 집단 공통적으로 초·중·고 학교급 시기에서 심리사회적 학교환경과 학업 스트레스가 정서행동문제에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 2015년 코호트 집단의 경우 초등학교 시기에 부모의 우울증 여부가 초등학생의 우울·불안에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤으며 초·중학교 시기에 성적이 높은 학생일수록 우울·불안 수준이 유의하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2000년대생에서 특징적으로 나타나는 주의집중문제와 위축 문제에 대한 교육적 개입의 필요성과 더불어 청소년의 정서 발달을 위한 단위학교 및 정책 차원의 지원 방향을 논의하였다.

영어초록

This study explored the changes in emotional and behavioral problems (depressed‧ anxious, attention problems, withdrawn, agggressive behavior) among adolescents during elementary, middle, and high school years, focusing on the influence of family environment (poverty, parental depression) and school life (psychosocial school environment, experiences of school violence, academic performance, and academic stress). The study utilized data from the child supplement of the Korean Welfare Panel, specifically from the 2006 cohort (1st, 3rd, and 7th waves) consisting of individuals born in the 1990s, and the 2015 cohort (10th, 13th, and 17th waves) consisting of individuals born in the 2000s. A multigroup analysis using an unconditional latent growth model was conducted to explore whether the trajectories of emotional and behavioral problems differed between these two generations. The results showed that both the 2006 and 2015 cohorts exhibited no significant changes in depression and anxiety over time, while aggressive behavoir decreased. However, in the 2015 cohort, issues related to attention problems and withdrawn increased. The study also investigated the impact of family environment and school life factors on emotional and behavioral problems. The findings were as follows: for both cohorts, the psychosocial school environment and academic stress significantly affected emotional and behavioral problems at all school stages. In contrast, a distinctive feature of the 2015 cohort was that parental depression had a significant positive impact on the depression and anxiety levels of elementary school students, and students with higher academic performance during elementary and middle school exhibited significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety. This study discussed the need for educational interventions specifically targeting attention problems and withdrawal, which are characteristic of those born in the 2000s, along with the direction of school-based and policy-based support to promote adolescents’ emotional development.
