중국 출판콘텐츠의 국내 수용 및 문제점에 관한 연구 ― 인문, 소설분야를 중심(2005년~2010년)으로 (Chinese and Korean Publication)

초록

중국 출판콘텐츠의 국내 번역출판은 2000년 이후 양적·질적 성장을 이루었다. 중국경제의 성장, 중국어와 중국학과의 인기, 2008년 8월 베이징올림픽의 성공적인 개최와 2010년 상하이엑스포 등 전반적인 호재는 중국 출판시장과 한국 출판시장을 지속적으로 자극하면서 상호교류를 활성화 시키고 있다.
베이징올림픽은 소프트차이나를 알리는 가장 좋은 계기였다. 중국인들의 물질적인 생활수준의 향상과 지적, 정신적 여유, 자식 교육에 대한 열의는 책에 대한 구매 욕구를 높여 도서 판매에 영향을 주고 있다. 중국정부의 출판시장 개방과 민간화는 해외자본의 대대적으로 유입을 예고하고 있으며 시장 규모의 확대를 가져올 것이다.
반면에 중국 출판콘텐츠에 대한 국내 수용에는 여러 장벽이 있다. 특히 국내 출판콘텐츠의 지적재산권 보호만 보더라도 양적인 성장에 비해 보호는 절망적이다. 하지만 한·중 출판저작권의 수입과 수출은 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 2009년 현재 중국출판물의 번역은 376종으로 비록 영미 권이나 일본어 권에 비해 저조하지만 모든 언어 권 중에 가장 빠른 성장 속도를 보이고 있다.
2008년 서울국제도서전과 2009년 프랑크푸르트국제도서전에서 중국이 주빈국이었던 점과 중국정부가 출판콘텐츠의 해외수출에 적극적인 점은 국내 번역출판에도 청신호임에 분명하다. 하지만 한·중 출판콘텐츠의 수·출입에 있어서 지적재산권의 문제나 번역의 문제 등은 여전히 적신호는 남아 있다.
특히 2008년 세계 금융위기 이후 지속되는 세계 경제시장의 악화는 출판저작권 교류에 심각한 영향을 미친다. 이런 호재와 악재를 잘 이끌고 극복하는 방법은 지속적인 한·중 출판계의 교류와 연구에 있을 것이다. 이것이 한·중 출판인의 숙제인 동시에 학계의 과제이다.

영어초록

Domestic translation of Chinese publications is experiencing a rapid development since the 2000s in terms of both quantity and quality. Encouraging factors such as growth of Chinese economy, popularity in Chinese language and Chinese language department, successful performance of 2008 Beijing Olympics in August and holding of 2010 Shanghai Expo will continuously stimulate both Chinese and Korean publication markets and revitalize exchange between the two.
Chinese publication industry is expected to achieve over 10% growth since 2008. Beijing Olympics was a great success factor that announced the start-off of Soft China and will not only improve physical standard of living of Chinese people but also will promote intellectual and psychological demand for reading, increasing the sales of books. In addition, Chinese publications were opened to overseas with joining of China in the WTO since 2007, and large scale inflow of foreign capital will cause the market to grow even larger.
On the other hand, protection of intellectual property rights for Chinese publications is not so optimistic. Looking at protection of intellectual property rights for publications, current protection is almost hopeless compared to the growth in quantity. However, imports and exports between Korean and Chinese copyrighted publications are gradually increasing. While the number of translations from Chinese to Korean in 2007 was low in comparison to English and Japanese at 350, it is showing the fastest growth in the number among all languages.
The fact that China was selected as the guest of honor for Seoul International Book Fair held in May and active participation of Chinese publication circles in Korea-China Publication Forum held in October are a definite green light for domestic translation of Chinese copyrighted publications. However in reality, problems of intellectual property rights and translation are still showing a red light in imports and exports between Korean and Chinese publications.
In particular, current deterioration in global economy has a severe impact on the exchange in publication market. Continued exchange and research by Korean and Chinese publication industries would be the only way to overcome and cope well with such encouraging factors and disheartening factors. This is the task to be considered by the publishers of Korea and China and also by the academic circles.
