초록

동리 신재효 기념사업 40년(1984~2024)의 전개 양상은 사업 내용에 따라 대략 세 시기로 구분할 수 있다. 1984년부터 1999년까지는 기념사업의 기반 조성기라 할 수 있다. 이 시기에는 1984년 동리가비 건립과 100주기 기념행사가 열려 기념사업의 출발점이 되었고, 1988년 제1회 고창어린이판소리대회가 개최되었다. 1990년 (사)동리연구회 발족과 동리국악당이 준공되었고, 1991년 동리대상이 제정되었다. 1993년 동리연구회를 중심으로 동리연구 발간과 1997년 동리학술총서 를 발간함으로써 신재효의 학문적 성과를 조명하였다.
2000년부터 2014년까지는 기념사업의 확장기라 할 수 있다. 2001년 판소리박물관 개관은 신재효뿐만 아니라 각종 판소리 자료를 전시하여 판소리 정보를 제공하였다. 2002년 판소리전수관 개관으로 고창군민이 판소리를 학습할 기회를 제공받았고, 2007년 동리예술단 결성으로 고창에서 활동하는 판소리 전공자들이 공연 활동을 펼쳤다. 2012년은 탄생 200년 기념으로 동리유품전시회를 가졌고, 2014년에는 동리 신재효 유품도록 을 발간하였다.
2015년부터 2024년까지는 기념사업의 성숙기라 할 수 있다. 2016년 대한민국판소리한마당 축제를 통해 고창국악 중흥을 꾀하였다. 2020년부터 동리 신재효 자료총서 총 18권을 발간하였거나 진행하고 있다. 2021년 고창신재효문학상 제정으로 고창의 역사, 지리, 인물, 문화 등을 소재로 소설작품을 선정하여 시상하고 있다. 2023년 신재효 생가터 중심으로 신재효판소리공원을 개관하였고, 프로그램으로 명창 초청 판소리 아카데미 운영 등이 진행되고 있다.
동리 신재효 기념사업의 분야별 성과와 추후 과제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유적지 사업은 고택(古宅) 단장, 묘소 및 진입로 정비에 이어 동리정사를 복원하였다. 추후 고택은 장마철에 자주 침수하므로 국가유산청과 협의하여 해체하여 복토한 뒤 복원하여야 한다.
둘째, 학술사업은 100주기 세미나, 동리연구 발간, 동리학술총서 발간, 학술세미나 주최, 동리 신재효 자료총서 발간을 통해 판소리 여섯 바탕 영인본과 교주본 등 18권을 발간하거나 진행하고 있다. 추후 신재효 연구 자료를 모아 전자책으로 복간하거나 홈페이지를 구축하여 등재하여야 한다.
셋째, 시설사업은 동리국악당 개관, 판소리박물관 개관, 판소리전수관 개관, 신재효판소리공원을 개관하였다. 1990년 개관한 동리국악당은 시설 노후화로 2013년 리모델링 공사를 통해 현대식으로 단장하였다. 추후 판소리박물관은 수용 능력 확장과 체험과 교육 기능을 수행할 수 있도록 자리를 옮겨 증개축하여야 한다. 나아가 판소리 관련 도서관, 판소리 역사의 변천과 학습 과정을 이해할 수 있는 기록관, 판소리 음반과 영상자료, 각종 유물 보존 등 박물관의 기능을 아우르는 라키비움(Larchiveum) 형태의 판소리 연구소를 설립하여야 한다.
넷째, 브랜드사업은 동리국악당, 동리연구회, 동리연구, 동리학술총서, 동리대상, 동리예술단, 동리판소리완창전, 신재효판소리자료총서, 고창신재효문학상, 신재효판소리공원, 동리창극단으로 이어졌다. 추후 고창군립동리창극단, 동리신재효기념관으로 이어져야 한다.
다섯째, 공연단체는 동리예술단과 동리창극단이 결성되었다. 추후 고창군립동리창극단이 창단되어야 한다. 이러한 상설 단체로 한국음악 전공자들이 안정적인 바탕 위에 군민을 위한 판소리와 창극 등 공연을 할 수 있는 바탕을 만들어야 한다. 이는 신재효의 업적을 계승하는 핵심이며, 이를 통해 고창 판소리의 역사성을 구현할 수 있다.
여섯째, 공연사업은 창극 <광대가>, 창작판소리극 <동리, 오동은 봉황을 기다리고>, 창극 <옹녀>가 올려졌다. 추후 신재효를 소재로 창극 관현악 무용극으로 작품을 만들어야 한다.
동리 신재효 기념사업은 고창의 문화유산과 가치를 창조적으로 계승하는 일로 고창이 판소리의 모범지역이자 성지로서 선진지역으로 나가는 길이다.

영어초록

The development of the 40 years of the Dong-ri Shin Jae-hyo Memorial Project (1984-2024) can be roughly categorized into three periods based on the content of the project. From 1984 to 1999, it can be considered the foundation for the Memorial project. During this period, the 100th anniversary event was held and became the starting point of the memorial project. In 1990, the Dong-ri Research Society was launched and the Dong-ri Gugakdang was completed, and the Dong-ri Grand Prize was established in 1991. Shin Jae-hyo's academic achievements were highlighted by the publication of Dong-ri Research in 1993 and the publication of Dong-ri Academic Book in 1997.
From 2000 to 2014, it can be considered the expansion period of the Memorial project. During this period, the opening of the Pansori Museum in 2001 provided pansori information by exhibiting various pansori materials as well as Shin Jae-hyo. The opening of the Pansori Training Center in 2002 provided an opportunity for Gochang-gun residents to learn pansori, and the formation of the Dongri Art Troupe in 2007 focused on pansori majors in the Gochang area. In 2012, an exhibition of Dongri's relics was held to commemorate the 200th anniversary of his birth, and in 2014, Dong-ri Shin Jae-hyo's Relics was published.
From 2015 to 2024, it can be considered the maturity period of the memorial project. During this period, the development of Gochang Korean traditional music was promoted through the 2016 Korean Pansori Hanmadang Festival. Since 2020, he has published or is in the process of publishing 18 volumes of Dong-ri Shin Jaehyo materials. The Gochang Shin Jae-hyo Literature Award in 2021, the opening of Shin Jae-hyo Pansori Park in 2023, and the operation of the Pansori Academy invited by master singers are underway.
The achievements and future tasks of the Dong-ri Shin Jae-hyo Memorial Project are as follows. First, the historical site project restored Dong-rijeongsa Temple following the renovation of the old house, the tomb, and the access road. Later, the old house is frequently flooded during the rainy season, so it must be dismantled and covered in consultation with the Cultural Heritage Administration.
Secondly, the academic project has published or is in the process of publishing 18 volumes, including the facsimile and corrected editions of the Six Foundations of Pansori, through the 100th Anniversary Seminar, the publication of Dong-ri Research, the Dong-ri Academic Series, hosting academic seminars, and the publication of the Dong-ri Shin Jaehyo Materials Collection. In the future, research papers on Shin Jae-hyo should be collected and published as e-books or a website should be established and listed.
Third, the facility project opened the Dongri Gugakdang, the Pansori Museum, the Pansori Exhibition Hall, and the Shin Jae-hyo Pansori Park. Dongri Gugakdang, which opened in 1990, was renovated in 2013 through remodeling due to its aging facilities. In the future, the Pansori Museum should be expanded and renovated to expand its capacity and fulfill its experiential and educational functions. Furthermore, a pansori research institute in the form of a Larchiveum should be established that encompasses the functions of the museum, such as a pansori-related library, an archive to understand the changes and learning process of pansori history, pansori records, video materials, and preservation of various artifacts.
Fourth, the brand business led to Dongri Gugakdang, Dongri Research Society, Dongri Research, Dongri Academic General, Dongri Grand Prize, Dongri Art Troupe, Dongri Pan Sori Wanchangjeon, Shin Jaehyo Pan Sori Data Book, Gochang Shin Jaehyo Literary Award, Shin Jaehyo Pansori Park, and Dongri Chang Theater Troupe. In the future, it should be connected to the Gochang-gun Dong-ri Changgeuk Company and the Dong-ri Shin Jae-hyo Memorial Hall.
Fifth, Dongri Art Troupe and Dongri Chang Theater Troupe were formed as performing organizations. Later, Gochang-gun Dongri Chang Theater Troupe should be established. With this permanent organization, it is necessary to create a foundation for performances such as pansori and changgeuk for the county residents on a stable basis. The establishment of the Gochang-gun Dong-ri Changgeuk Company is the key to inheriting Shin Jae-hyo's achievements and can realize the historical nature of Gochang Pansori.
Sixth, the performance project was uploaded with a changgeuk 'Clown Song' and a creative pansori drama 'Dongri, Odong Waiting for Phoenix'. In the future, it is necessary to create a work based on Shin Jae-hyo as an orchestral dance play in Changgeuk.
The Dong-ri Shin Jaehyo Memorial Project is a creative inheritance of Gochang's cultural heritage and values, and is a way for Gochang to become an advanced region as a model and sacred place for pansori.
