비전공 비서를 위한 계속교육 프로그램 개발 (Development of Continuing Education Program for Non-majored Secretaries)

초록

이 연구는 비서직 종사자의 대부분을 차지하고 있는 비전공 비서의 계속교육에 대한 요구를 분석하여 비서직의 전문성 제고를 위한 바람직한 계속교육의 모형을 제안하는 데 있다. 연구절차는 첫째, 국내외 비서계속교육 현황분석을 통해 현행 프로그램의 장단점을 분석한다. 둘째, 비서의 계속교육 참여경험을 조사하여 비전공 비서의 계속교육에 대한 참여도를 분석하고 실태를 파악한다. 셋째, 비전공 비서의 계속교육에 대한 요구를 분석한다. 넷째, 사례와 요구를 취합하여 프로그램 구성요소를 개발한다. 다섯째, 조사된 결과를 바탕으로 비서직 계속교육 프로그램을 설계한다.
연구결과, 첫째, 비서직종사자가 참여할 수 있는 계속교육 기관이 점차 줄고 있으며, 업무의 기초 지식이 필요한 비전공자가 정보를 습득할 공간이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 십년 전과 비교했을 때 계속교육 참여도는 점차 늘고 있으나 교육기관의 동일 프로그램과 이론 중심의 프로그램은 비전공자의 교육요구를 충족시키기에 불충분하였다. 셋째, 비전공 비서는 주로 실무를 학습할 수 있는 교육기관이나 비서직종 내의 경력개발을 위한 계속교육기관을 선호하였다. 넷째, 비서직종사자들은 경력개발을 위해 미국 비서협회 교육과 같이 특정 업무별 교육을 선호하였다. 다섯째, 경력에 따라 교육 프로그램 선호가 상이했고, 선호도와 필요도의 구성요소를 찾아 교육프로그램을 개발하였다.
이 연구는 비전공비서의 전문성을 제고할 수 있는 프로그램을 설계한 연구로서 의의가 있으며, 향후 이 연구를 기반으로 보다 다양한 비전공비서와 전공비서의 계속교육 프로그램을 개발하여 비서교육이 활성화되어야할 것이다.

영어초록

The study aims to analyze and reflect the needs of continuing education for Non-majored secretaries who take up a large part of administrative professionals and to propose desirable models for continuing education that could enhance professionalism of secretaries. The approaches are as follows:First, find out of continuing education program by examining the current state of the program. Second, comprehend and analyze the participation rate of the non-majors in the program to find out how previous experience of the program contributes to their career. Third, examine the needs of the non-majors regarding the continuing education program. Fourth, create elements of the program by integrating the case studies and the needs. Fifth, plan the program by setting guidelines of continuing education program of administrative professionals based on the results of the research.
According to one of the findings in this study, institutions providing continuing education programs are decreasing because of the less chance for the non-majored secretaries to participate. Moreover, there are insufficient spaces where the non-majors could acquire related information. Second, despite increasing participation rate compare to a decade ago, using the same or mainly lecture-based programs was insufficient to satisfy their needs. Third, the findings show that the non-majors prefer institutions with the programs primarily suitable for job training to build up their careers. Fourth, in the US, types of secretaries are segmented and secretary education have been developed based on secretary association. Non-majored secretaries hoped to study the field of the specialization for professionalism. Fifth, the findings have indicated that preference of the program varies depending on the work experience of the participants. Consequently, the arrangement of the programs depends on the preference and necessity.
The purpose of this study is to figure out the programs boosting professionalism of the non-majors and to suggest enhancement of various continuing education programs in the future based on this research for administrative professionals regardless of their majors.
