초록

(Purpose) This study aimed to present directions for establishing a regional innovation ecosystem through the activation of university-industry-government (UIG) collaboration.
(Design/methodology/approach) It examined the concept of UIG collaboration, the paradigm of industry-academic-research collaboration, and policies for activating UIG collaboration based on the analysis of various cases and the collaborative content between local governments and universities in industry-academic cooperation projects.
(Findings/Research implications or Originality) The study suggests ensuring autonomy and breaking away from the existing framework based on collaborative partnerships between the government, local authorities, and universities; stable organizational and financial support from local authorities for regional universities; joint planning of sustainable development strategies by universities, local governments, and industry; creating environments for talents nurtured by local universities to settle in the region; promoting community problem-solving UIG collaboration programs through the activation of living lab networks; expanding ongoing exchange and cooperation between universities and local authorities; sharing information through the publication and distribution of newsletters for UIG collaboration; and the need for various university-industry collaborative activities in conjunction with the community.
