경마기수의 스트레스 척도개발 (A Study on the Development of Stress Scale Measure for Jockey)

The study aims to develop the scaling measure of stress factor for horse riding jockeys by conducting an open question pilot survey for jockeys with more than one year of horse riding experience and sufficient understanding on horse riding, which led finally to the adoption of 45 question items. Through this process, the author undertook factor analysis, internal consistency analysis, correlation analysis between sub-categories of stress factor, and confirmatory factor analysis and reviewed in a comprehensive manner, which revealed that 11 questions were excluded due to conceptual and statistical problems among 45 question items, and thus 34 question items from 7 factors were adopted as stress factors for horse riding jockeys. The measurement instrument for stress of jockeys was found to be satisfactory in terms of reliability estimated against consistence and stability for 34 questions. That is, the internal consistency was estimated to be between .84 and .95, and the number of questions for each factor category was between 3 and 8 in average. If the number of questions for each factor was higher, it would be necessary to find out more appropriate questions in further study in case where the increase in reliability coefficient is predicted.
