It is very important to provide students more specified education in the field of the constitutional law in Korea. In order to do so, it is necessary to organize three levels of legal education : basic education, advanced education, and professional education.
At the level of basic education, students may be able to learn the basic legal principles of constitutional law. At the second level, the advanced education, students may have opportunities to apply those principles to concrete and specific problems of constitutional law. At the professional level of education of constitutional law, students may be able to learn the theories of constitutional law in the professional fields that need to utilize constitutional theories.
In correspondence with the educational levels, the appropriate and divers courses of constitutional law should be developed. In this case, the identity of the discipline of human rights may be problematic since theories of human rights are closely related to other laws, such as criminal law, criminal procedure, commercial law, etc. Presently, the courses of human rights are needed for educating the general system of theories of human rights and the theories of the human rights of the new area such as cyberspace. Education of other laws and human rights must be complementary each other. It is also necessary to strengthen the education of constitutional litigation.
It is important to determine the appropriate timing and the quantity of divers courses of constitutional law. For developing the education of constitutional law, it is necessary to emphasize the basic principles, historical and sociological review and interdisciplinary understanding. Divers teaching methods such as case studies, socratic method, seminar, clinical method should be utilized. Students should learn legal ethics as well as professional knowledge.
