초록

The cultural industry more and more becomes an important industry in the China economic growth, because the cultural industry has more linkage effect than another industries. The annual average growth of the cultural industry faster than the GDP in China. The cultural market size is growing to the third in the world. Although the market size is fast growing, but we need to consider the efficiency of the cultural industry. This paper uses DEA-Malmquist index, analyzes the efficiency of the cultural industry in China. The input variables include the total asset and the employment person, and the output variable includes the sales revenue. The period set from 2005 to 2013. The regions include 31 regions, that is provincial regions. The result finds that the average Malmquist index is 1.015, the efficiency of the cultural industry improved by 1.5%. And the efficiency improvement mainly has oriented from the technological change, not from efficiency change. It means that the efficiency of the cultural industry has oriented from the quantity growth, not from the quality development. From the three regions, the relative efficiency of the Middle region is higher than the Eastern region and the Western region. It suggests that the Middle region and the Eastern region have the development potential. And the result suggests that the cultural industry development policy have to concentrate on the quality development.
