초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the distinct characteristics and the similarities of the architecturalorders of the Hangae village's high-class houses (Hanjujongteak) in comparison with the general houses inthe Joseon Dynasty period, and to define Hanjujongteak's architectural principles by analyzing how it hasadopted and resolved the special circumstances and conditions.
Hanjujongteak conforms the Joseon Dynasty's high-class house architectural orders. The high-classhouses in Joseon Dynasty can be characterized by the existence of principal buildings, the separation ofthe space for men and women, private composition of Anchae(women's territory) and also the existence ofancestral shrine. Hanjujongteak in Hangae village is one of the most reserved high-class houses amongnational treasures with it's unique regional features.
The principal building of Hanjujongteak has its own territory and other buildings surrounding the mainbuilding with its own territorries. Each territory has different functions but all territories are systematiclylinked with one another.
The composition methods used to maintain such architectural system are "formation of buildinggroups" , "approaches and blocks to each territories", "establishment of space transfer", and also "changesof axes" etc.
Hanjujongteak in Hangae village does not only conform the traditional high-class architectural ordersof Joseon Dynasty but demonstrate diverse architectural reformation and deletion. It is the results of thepeople who lived in the house constantly tried to makearchitecture orders efficient and convenient as they faced various circumstances.
