부부관계 유대감과 유아 정서조절능력의 관계: 부모 양육효능감의 매개효과 (The Relationship between Marital Bond and Preschool Children’s Emotional Regulation: Mediation Effect of Parents’ Parenting Efficacy)

초록

목적 본 연구는 부부관계 유대감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 나아가 부모의 양육효능감의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다.
방법 만 3-5세 유아를 자녀로 둔 부모 43쌍과 그 자녀를 지도하는 교사들을 대상으로 인터뷰와 설문조사를 실시하였다. 부부관계유대감은 Krokoff와 Gottman(1984)이 개발하고 남은영(2012)이 한국어로 번안한 Oral History Interview를 사용하여 인터뷰하였고, 부모 양육효능감은 부모 보고로, 유아의 정서조절능력은 교사 보고로 측정되었다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 먼저 부부관계 유대감과 부모의 양육효능감 및 유아의 정서조절능력의 상관관계를 살펴보았고, 다음으로 부모 양육효능감의 매개효과를 분석하였다.
결과 연구결과 첫째, 부부관계 유대감과 모의 양육효능감 및 유아의 정서조절능력 각각의 변인들간에 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는것으로 나타났다. 다만, 부부관계 유대감은 부의 양육효능감과 관련이 없었다. 둘째, 부부관계 유대감과 유아의 정서조절능력의 관계에서 모의 양육효능감이 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부부관계 유대감이 유아의 정서조절능력에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 직접적으로 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 모의 양육효능감을 매개로 간접적으로도 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있다.
결론 이러한 결과들은 부부관계가 어머니를 통해 자녀의 정서에 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사하며, 유아의 정서조절능력을 함양하기위한 부부관계 및 어머니 양육효능감의 증진 방안에 대해 논의하였다. 아울러 선행연구와 달리 아버지 양육효능감과의 관련성이나타나지 않은 이유에 대한 추후 연구가 필요하다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Marital Bond, parents’ Parenting Efficacy and Preschool Children’s Emotional Regulation and to investigate Parenting Efficacy plays a mediating role in the relationship between Marital Bond and Preschool Children’s Emotional Regulation.
Methods For this purpose, interview and surveys were conducted on 43 pairs of parents with young children aged 3-5 as children and teachers who teaching their children. The Marital Bond was interviewed using The Oral History Interview developed by Krokoff & Gottman (1984) and translated into Korean by Nahm Eun-young (2012), and Parental Parenting Efficacy was measured by parental reporting and Preschool Children’s Emotional Regulation was measured by teacher reporting. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 program. First, the correlation between marital Bond, parental parenting efficacy, and preschool children’s emotional regulation was examined, and then the mediating effect of parental parenting efficacy was analyzed.
Results As a result of the study, first, it was found that there was a significant correlation between marital bond, mother’s parenting efficacy, and preschool children’s emotional regulation. However, the marital bond was not related to father’s parenting efficacy. Second, it was found that mother’s parenting efficacy partially mediated in the relationship between marital bond and preschool children’s emotional regulation. It can be seen that marital bond not only directly affects the process of affecting preschool children’s emotional regulation, but also indirectly affects the mother’s parenting efficacy.
Conclusions These results suggested that marital relationships affect children's emotions through mothers, and discussed ways to improve marital relationships and mother’s parenting efficacy to foster children's emotional regulation. In addition, A future study is needed to examine the reason for not showing a significant relationship with father’s parenting efficacy.
